Not for example "printing" your own money via mining.

I slightly disagree. The bitcoin protocol is the invention. The blockchain, mining, and wallets are just a manifestation.
No.

The blockchain is the greatest invention mankind has produced to date. It makes the internet look like a slinky. You can get away with a lie on the internet, for instance... Try lying on the blockchain. Using this basis to build all kind of applications on is truly going to change the world for the better. It's like injecting integrity deep into the roots of society... Something society is deeply and sadly lacking.
