Quite an interesting approach. I wonder if the people of Iceland will have enough awareness and interest to actually make this work. I have a feeling that the citizens of the U.S. would not.

Each Icelandic citizen—all 330,000 of them—will receive 31.8 AUC through a digital transaction. Citizens all have a national ID number available through a public database, which will be used to verify their identity.
So this will be the less anonymous cryptocurrency ever made!

This is interesting. When Icelanders are educated about cryptocurrency how long will it take for most people to swap their alt-coin for Bitcoin?

That is intriguing. I think one of my first ever posts I speculated that Iceland might adopt bitcoin. Not exactly what I had envisioned but there's something about the idea that has merit. Even if it's only advertising.

Damn I am a fortune teller. This may be the only time in my life that a prediction played out.

"Far-fetched but perhaps a smaller, developed, tech-savvy nation like Iceland will adopt it as their currency, or create a digital currency based on the technology, or at least peg their currency to it. They got badly burned but the new government decided to prosecute the banksters instead of bailing them out. "

Not 99%, but definitely more than 90%. We don't need any more altcoins. Already we have 200+ different varieties of these shitcoins.
