Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I can confirm ONE, of TWO things.

Either the AltCoins will find a niche market, and make us rich; Or, Alt's end up being worthless, and we loose our shirts.

I feel that Alt's do have a place in Bitcoins shadow, and 2014 is going to be a prosperous year for all of us.  Wink

Alts that build functionality on the blockchain may have a place.  Alts that are simple clones probably wont.

I think this year a couple of the alt coins rise to the top in the shadow of btc, while the rest fizzle out after they have been pumped and dumped.

Lets not forget that bitcoin exists since 2009 , the price rised up beacause more and more people started to use it. Now theres alot of propaganda so probably it will raise again

It really annoys me when someone considers bitcoin as a get rich fast scheme, especially when he/she has no idea what bitcoin really is...
