Greeting,

This is the second announcement of Cura Project which is a SERVICE-BASED cryptocurrency to promote de-centralized medicine practice. I figured it would be appropriate since there were major changes to CuraCoin. If you have some time to read, please check out my proposal at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OTUoLC5Veb5HVJeZ6CdsV0KpiwXH5orxQiU9tDFX5ic/edit for further understanding of the project.

A few updates: I have converted CuraCoin to N-adaptive factor algo with block difficulty re-targeting along with implementing my own random blocks reward for better ASIC resistant and a better rewarding experience.

It should be ready in two weeks and will be fair launching. Some people suggested the idea of IPO but I do not think it is a good route, although I definitely want to set up a foundation/funding for researching. I can't foresee setting up a good funding for groups in the future since people have been clamoring for fair launch, yet I am not a miner. It is up to the crowd-mining to donate the fund in the future. If you guys have better suggestion, please do.

In the meantime I am doing some graphics, code changes (different memory scaling) in free time.

Also, I suggested NAMING mining pools to insurance pools (no specific name though due to potential legal issues) and illness , e.g.

       insurance.pool-name.com
       obamasuck.pool-name.com
       yomamacare.pool-name.com
       botulism.pool-name.com
       cholera.pool-name.com
       syphilis.pool-name.com

There will be rewards for setting up pools (only if you name them after illness or insurance), nodes, faucets, tipbot, Android wallet, lightweight client, etc. I also would like to bring forth QR scanner that I wrote a few months back into Cura Project sometimes after the launching.

I am active on #curaCoin on freenode chat, so feel free to check it out and ask question, or if you want to contribute to the team. If you have question regarding the Cura Project or ideas to contribute, please post here. I will keep this thread update with changes.

Edit: The release page on bitcointalk will be short and to-the-point. I do not like lengthy release page. To get involved in the community, please visit http://www.reddit.com/r/curacoin , https://www.facebook.com/Curacoin, and twitter https://twitter.com/Curacoin

I've been looking forward to this coin. Is there a tentative release date?

The proposal says CPU-based mining. Will there be no GPU-mining? Because that would be sad.

Someone really needs to produce the HealthcareSavingsAccount (HSA) coin. That could be huge!

N-adaptive factor algo = Scrypt-jane?

Please keep the premine to a minimum, otherwise you'll kill the coin before it starts, and I really want to see this coin succeed!

It will be 0.8% or less. ANY coin can be killed when rushing to an exchange. The fund will be use to for checkpoints and bounties.

With that being say, exchange will be the last on my list of to-do thing.

I've been looking forward to this coin. Is there a tentative release date?

It is CPU-oriented but you can use GPU for mining.

Also, it should be release in two weeks depending on my off-time schedule working on source codes, compiling, and pools to be readied (so far I got liberty-miners and AnimusGS on board) . Cheer.

Pretty funny, considering US doesn't have a centralized health care system (and the citizens suffer for it).

Donation is better than IPO vs Premine. If you consider your self a great dev, you could always ask for donation in every added feature or any effort you do for the coin.

Msg me if you want me to put anything here.

N-adaptive factor algo = Scrypt-jane?

you called tomatoes i call toma-toes. it is n-factor that is adaptive as opposed to being fixed as scrypt-jane over time with the assumption that the processor is getting better in a few years. there is an initial n-factor starting time and whenever it is mined it retrieves current timestamp and make adjustments based on that difference.

i was busy with schedule. with that being say, Cura will be released in a week. So far I did internal testing and compiling which worked on Linux. I will need sometimes to compile for Windows.

again, Cura will be N-adaptive factor with Kimoto gravity well and random block reward. happy v-day everyone.

Can you provide some more details for GPU mining ?

Can it be mined with cgminer or are there any specifications/requirements for GPU mining ?

Thanks

I tested compile headless client and Wallet QT version for Windows last night. Linux and Windows versions will be available on launch. I am active on IRC at #curacoin if you guys want to inquire more about launch days.

As launch day is near (exact day will probably be decided on IRC #curacoin first), I will have more time to post more on bitcointalk and elsewhere. I posted a topic on reddit's HealthIT section http://www.reddit.com/r/healthIT/comments/1ynvpy/proposal_to_decentralized_medicine_cura/

Have a good weekend everyone.

Ps: Here's the VirusTotal Scan for Windows wallet QT version, in case of any false positive: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/97787e267f608b58c6aeee38d6a5bbfced6354070db82fa1352eedaea544638d/analysis/1393140484/

Nice talking with you guys in the freenode chat. If you need any help let me know. I am very optimistic about this coin and back anything healthcare related 100% that is for the people of course. Maybe not Obamacare. What an ego to have a healthcare named after yourself.

Yeah, because it's totally named Obamacare and not Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and only dubbed Obamacare by people like you. You Americans are so funny.
