We have announced and presented our new product during the Computex show in Taiwan. That is an ultra-compact liquid-cooled enterprise computing platform Comino Grando with the built-in ability to re-use heat, which allows you to take full advantage of GPU processing power.

* 16 GPUs per one module
* 540 (±5%) MH/s Ethereum. Using AMD 580RX GPUs
* 2500W Power Consumption of one module
* 4U Form Factor, 160 GPUs in 42U Rack

Because of the liquid cooling, it is up to 40% more efficient, compared to the overclocked air cooling models. It has the ability to recycle energy back into the Data center building for heating. Plus, Comino Grando can operate 24 hour a day, 7 days a week at full power.

Liquid cooling required less fans which makes the system extremely quiet.

Air-cooling, by its nature is energy wasting. Energy is expended to generate heat during operations, then more energy is used to somehow get rid of that heat. The Comino Grando's liquid cooling is up to 40% more energy efficient.

The massive energy use footprint and eco-abuse of the cryptocurrency mining industry is in the news almost daily. Industry reportedly has released around 33.9 kilotons of CO2 in just a year. Such a high rate of energy is a major industry challenge. Comino Grando creates much less excess energy as well as recycles it back for heating. Liquid cooling helps recuperate the heat from the Grando device, transport it and use it effectively in any other facility.

We designed our cooling blocks and other elements so that, you can remove any hardware (GPUs, CPU, Motherboard, PSU) without removing the coolant from the device. Which is an easy-to-use and maintain policy of Comino.

We provide our own software, allowing real-time monitoring, remote administration, system safety and stability.

All products are shipped with a 1 year warranty (compared to 3 months of other producers), that is because we use high quality components by world's leading manufacturers: Molex for gold-plated sockets for our custom raiser cards, Chieftec modified power supply for 24/7. We are partnering with Asus, Gigabyte, Nvidia, AMD, Delta, TSMC and others.

Interesting. I personally have 4U units with 13 GPU`s, air cooled though. How is pricing?

They sell a similar unit with 8x P106 for $5.8K USD. Link: https://shop.comino.com/en/

I guess over $10K for the 16x Rx580s box?

It's a beautiful piece of engineering, but I doubt it will be priced right.

it is nice gear  and would have been nice to get   in  early fall 2017.

Now not so nice.

Thank you for your comment. We are constantly working on the optimization of our products.

The price of Comino Grando will depend on the components, but it will be more cost efficient than the one you mentioned.

Approximate price for a fully packed Comino Grando with (42U rack with 16 GPU’s 580rx, coolant, PSU, CPU, Motherboard etc) will be around 8500$.

Added values:
• Deformational cutting (hot water cooling)
• 30% less electricity bills (PUE 1.05)
• 20% more hashrate (hardware and software optimization)
• 10% more shares from stability
• High-density (up to 10 times less space)
• Low noise level
• Heat recuperation
• Easy to maintain
• Unlike retail products, PSU consists of server components
• Quality (best techs and hardware
• Warranty and tech support
• Transparent, real-time system status (all system data is monitored and shown at the console)

True, profitability has changed drastically since 2017. But we believe that with our new device you can still have decent profits.
Considering that power consumption and energy costs play a major role in cost cutting.

That's a nice piece on engineering indeed! I'm glad people are starting to optimize these with a ECO friendly though in their mind.

Since it's liquid cooled, I suppose the noise is down but I'm still curious what kind of noise is it producing. Do you have any metrics on that?

Thank you! Yes, the ECO question is acute - we are all using the resources that can't be replenished.

Liquid cooling makes the rigs considerably quieter, our Comino N1 is almost silent - 30dB.

We've just measured the noise of one working Comino Grando in an office space. Indicator at the front shows 50dB, at the back 55dB (there is a ventilator near PSU block). The reason it is louder than our N1 is that we use industrial PSUs, which are unshielded.

Not to compare with other rigs, I can say that a noise level of a whisper is 20dB, in a typical office 40-50dB, refrigerator 40dB, normal conversation 60dB, city traffic 85dB.

Damn. The product looks like an amazing piece of engineering. However, the website itself is also superbly designed and is really eye-catching, i felt like i was playing a video game just going through the user interface. Kudos to your hardware and software engineering teams.

It's just too bad this is coming at a time like this when GPU mining seems to be ending. Hopefully the remaining of 2018 turns around for GPUs.

I completely agree with you on the website design. This is how a product website should be done! If products were sold based on website design alone, this product would probably sell trillions. I can only imagine how much the Comino team paid the website designers.

Product looks great too btw, just a little too late to the market probably.

I agree this is an impressive product overall.  540 MH/sec at 2500W isn't very impressive, but the fact that this is compact and quiet and 42U compliant is pretty amazing.  If eth were at $900 or more, this product would likely have more of a market.

Thank you for a great feedback!
True, ETH is not in its best shape this year. Nevertheless, our product is a well calculated investment:
- We used all the high quality parts and durable components for stable work and long life
- Engineering allows all  Grando’s hardware parts to be swapped out without interfering with its cooling system. GPUs can be easily removed and modules switched for new ones, allowing inexpensive upgrade
- significant electricity cost saving:  Grando works with PUE 1.05 compared to air cooled rigs, where PUE goes up to 2.0
All those factors still give us a great future handicap.

And... if GPU mining decides to sink forever (which won’t happen that fast), it’s a supercomputer which can be used for rendering, neural networks, AI, big data, gaming etc.

We’ ve worked on the upgrades and our device can now use various types of cards, since we’ve developed modules for at least 10 types of GPUs. Are favorites ar the moment - RX580 and p106

Are there any further discounts on the pricing?

With all miners cleaning their shelves for 90 percent discount, I wonder what you guys are doing.

If there are deep discounts, I might buy a large chunk.
