In all games people want to achieve the highest skills, levels and equipment. So why not in real life?
For sure everybody has different life goals and what he/she wants to achieve. Some just want to be happy and other want to change something in the world or build an empire.

Write your goals down and see it as motivation. Compare it to a video game and that you want to achieve it as bad as you want to breathe. Helped me a lot
