the price of a stuff with intrinsic value does go up when banned
the price of a currency that's less used goes down

Sure it does.
Thats why from all of Ccryptocurrencies in bitcoin I trust most.

As long as people use coin. Coin wont die.

yup, it's the only one that's actually being used so far.

We can say that LTC is in use too, but mostly BTC.

When there is a lot of dishonesty...

like online news these days...

we need a system to simplify honesty...

When there is very little honesty, we need to put intelligent checks on honesty...

[That, is where it all begins...these troubled waters and all...]

That is when the value of honesty goes up...

I'd like to give value to systems such as Bittorrent if they give back value to those who have worked on creation

Creation...be it in the mind...is valuable and should be given it's fair consideration of Appreciation...

Else,
we create an economy scared to trust others ...

and scaring away the innovators and creative artists of the world.

In my judgement...

 that is greedy or Evil.

Whenever something is banned, its price goes UP.  Wink So please, ban to your evil heart's content.

This is the worst thing I have read all day...maybe all week.  What planet are you living on that makes banned items more valuable?   It makes them impossible to adopt/use without facing legal implications.

Earth. Uhm, Cocaine? Costs pennies to produce, sells for outrageous amounts due to being banned?

While I imagine the OP was tongue in cheek, do think before posting...

Yea true, but BTC is being used because its a legal way of purchasing such products, I mean what other reason is there for BTC to be honest. I mean anonymity is only truely needed when you don't want others to know what you are up too.

True. I just thought the above post was one of the more poorly thought out things I'd ever seen. And I'm not young.

Um, no. BTC was originally used to buy drugs off the internet more than anything else - not legal in any sense of the word.

Do you really have to ask? The reduction in fees and the lack of chargebacks are the only reasons merchants need to accept bitcoin, irregardless of the legality. Legality is only important to those who find it important. I will still use bitcoins if they're banned, and I will be more profitable than the guy who is worried about the legality.

I'm sure your first response is, "what good will your profits do you in jail?", which is a childish and naive response. Tell it to the thousands of people who sold drugs on the Silk Road and were never caught but made a ton of money. Oh right, you don't know who they are. Well, neither does law enforcement. Ha ha.

tor market bitcoin traffic is roughly 1-2% of trade. its just what bitcoin is most popular for. law enforcement have made arrests against many of the top vendors. they had everything, and you should have known this by now.

BTC.sx - Leveraged Bitcoin Trading. Simply use Bitcoin to take advantage of a rising or falling Bitcoin price.

Well, the Feds are just inclusive to the U.S.A. so wouldn't that mean that just Americans and U.S based Bitcoin shops would not be able to use Bitcoin anymore? The rest of the world would still be fine.

I'm not sure about other developed countries and their ability to resist US influence, though. But I wouldn't want to underestimate them...

Who have the Feds busted? BTCKing, Shrem and DPR are the only ones I've heard of, and there were thousands of SR vendors that are still walking free.
