It is already considered as a currency by most of the people in the world. The IMF will also start considering bitcoin and other usable crypto currencies as currency eventually. This is inevitable and is bound to happen no matter what. But right now we are using crypto currency to make profit instead of using it as a traditional currency. So as usual when we think of crypto currency, profit comes to our mind.
I would not say that it is inevitable, look at gold, gold has all of the characteristics we can associate with money and yet it is not recognized as money but as an asset and governments around the world are trying to make the same to bitcoin, but they are going to fail for one critical difference between bitcoin and gold, bitcoin is digital and easier to send and receive. |

Hi there Leo Barnes! That is a huge leap since IMF consists of almost 190 countries that work together in terms of monetary cooperation with each other. It discusses how the digital currency is so effective that it could minimize the risk and create broader benefits to the employer and employees. However, it also discusses the dangerous effect of bitcoin in the society like utilization of it in illegal activities. At the end, the author suggests that if there are good government policies, the cryptocurrency could make its way. |

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) just recently posted a picture that shows the evolution of money that people have used since the beginning of human civilization. Will IMF consider Bitcoin as a new currency?  If talking about currency as the medium of exchange it is FIAT that immediately comes to the mind, because maybe that's what I have been using since I was a kid, but like that picture I also have changed and learned about the economy and finance. The picture also shows changes that occurred from time to time, we are forced to change as the times goes or we will be left behind and become prehistoric humans. |

If i'm right IMF been a regulatory body deals with our traditional currencies and its is been instituted to generate some revenue or income in a form of interest. So they also are running their own form of business. So it no news to me but i know for sure that bitcoin one day will be an alternate to our traditional currency.

It comes into my mind that currency is a great business we can be getting Richer and happier and enjoyed it's nice platforms of work but we should be aware of any distractions . |

Agreed.Currency is what we used in our daily payment system and since bitcoin is not yet adopted as a currency in my country,i still prefer to make it as a form of a good investment.Hopefully,it will be legalized soon so we can also experience the convenience of cryptocurrency being used in the shop markets already. |

This is certainly ambiguous because Bitcoin is of course a currency because it meets almost the same conditions as the digital currency. IMF is an organization that operates under the UNO which has a lot in common with state politicians. As you know, the government and politicians tend to avoid cryptocurrencies and want to avoid using them by their citizens, which is why IMF may not want to put such images in order not to popularize cryptocurrencies. It's sad but partial censorship is ubiquitous.

if I think about money. i will use to buy bitcoin gan. because I do not want to miss the opportunity to buy bitcoin at a cheap price. and I'll keep saving until the price goes up .
It is the crypto world, once the crypto world comes in my mind I always think that have a unlimited risk or posssibilities to earn, to be successful and to have a better and comfortable life. Also I overthink that if you are involve in currency you have a chance to become wealthy. |

Well, I think there has a wrong about the picture, Way back in ERA the evolution of currency is started with trade so I think the first it is the first thing that the monkey holding, and also I think the International Monetary Fund will not proposed that image if they are not aware in bitcoin. Maybe they are open to accept this kind of digital currency. i dont think that they will put the bitcoin as the next generation of the currencies, because we can see right now that the bitcoin is not used by many people in the world and i think bitcoin should makes bitcoin is more popular than before to makes all people use bitcoin and maybe IMF wil put the bitcoin in that pciture

When we think if currency we imagine notes coins etc, in the early times when metal coins or paper notes were not in the trend then there was barter system people exchange goods with each other, but there are so many problems in that system, slowly it converted in precious metal coins and then simple metals and paper currency the future is of virtual currency and we are going forward with bitcoin etc.
