"State  authorities in Florida on Thursday announced criminal charges targeting three men who allegedly ran illegal businesses moving large amounts of cash in and out of the Bitcoin virtual currency. Experts say this is likely the first case in which Bitcoin vendors have been prosecuted under state anti-money laundering laws, and that prosecutions like these could shut down one of the last remaining avenues for purchasing Bitcoins anonymously."

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Agree.

You have to be an idiot to make large cash trades with people you don't know.  Selling 1 BTC is one thing, but $30k is nuts.  The guy should've told the cop to fuck off once there was mention of any illegal purchases with the BTC.

People need to change their user names on localbitcoins every few transactions.  They're obviously going to target the bigger traders first.  It's nice to have a high rating, but it isn't necessary if you are doing local cash trades.
