Limited action of Newbie and Jr.Member

- Just from this topic: "Prevent spamming and pump topic from new account ?" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4546636 , I would like to share my thoughts to prevent spamming and pump topic in Alternate cryptocurrencies section. A lot of mega thread in Altcoin Discussion & Speculation (Altcoins) that is only for spamming of signature campaign. Almost spamming and pump topic come from Alternate cryptocurrencies section, so I just share my idea here:

Agree, If you want to prevent newbie and Jr. Member from spamming and shit-posting, just make restricted on  Alternate cryptocurrencies section because all spam and pump is from Alternate cryptocurrencies section. Ex:
- Newbie: Only view/ Can't comment, reply/ Can't create new topic.
- Jr. Member without Merit: View & Can comment or reply 1 time/day
- Jr Member with Merit: View & Comment 5 times/day
- Higher rank: No restrict

It will encourage New and Jr. Member to contribute quality post for getting Merit.

We can adjust it to suitable for all Newbie and Jr. Member

Put those restrictions on the 'proper' boards, and leave them to wallow in the alt cesspit they create.

Just prevent newbies/jr members from bumping the topics and that should solve most of the problems with the bots. I do not think limiting newbies and lower ranked members from posting a certain amount of posts per day is the way to go. Its basically a newbie jail which was far from perfect.

First of all you are already a member of Signature campaign.
You are making redundant post may be to complete your signature count.

Better to stop creating new account and close all brand new, newbie, jr member account. Already there are different benefits for each type of membership? So, why you are thinking the alternate of admins post. If you think admin is not enough fair then it would better if you create a new post.

Note: Several social media stopped approving sponsor promotion for cryptocurrency. Now this forum is a great source of marketing. Almost maximum participant except signature campaign are newbie and jr. member. If newbie and jr. member restricted as on your view then they will loss a huge traffic and if so crypto market will go more lower.

There will be a pro-contrary to your idea, I think it should be lying on big interest of this forum. One of the interest is knowledge and idea sharing among the members, if this is restricted to some members then it will reduce the sharing content even perhaps most of low rank still lack of knowledge but idea is not. Perhaps some good idea will come from fresh knowledge even some of them are ridiculous. But the idea is a good asset of this forum, so the limitation as OP say is not suitable idea.

Are you serious? How can the Newbies progress if they can't reply or comment to any topics or threads? I think this is incorrect since Newbies suppose to do this, well all ranks do. In my analysis, you are literally just want to say that, this forum will not accept any new members.

Hmmm, now it got me thinking, if the current problem is because of having new members end up flooding the forum, by making such toxicity then will it be good to not let new members for a while, like 2 months or something?

I don't think it will help much if we just disable new account registration for say 2 months.

In fact, there are already many registered accounts with zero post history. People can still make use of these accounts to flood the forum if they want to.

And more importantly, this is a bitcoin talk forum aiming at promoting BTC. Disabling new account registration here won't help promote BTC.

For the flooding issue, I think it is more a moderation problem. We should think more about how to improve our moderation system, rather than just imposing restrictions on Newbies or Jr. Members.

I must agree with you that most of the bumps and shit posts are usually associated with  newbies and Jr members accounts. However from the look of things at the moment, the restrictions placed on newbies and Jr members have not being very effective because we are still seeing a lot spam messages. The administrations and the moderators should come up with a better way of checkmating all those accounts used for bump and all the bots, that way we all enjoy quality posts from the forum.

It's slightly better than what's suggested on the other board, that other one is just stupid and we'd end up with a newbie posting "great project" enough time to fill space.
