to the devs: thanks for wasting much hashrate as a result of inadequate testing. left my rigs mining this during the day and have been rather disappointed.

Worked for me too. I've used "make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- " thought.

Thanks I tried that.
Got this result:

Code:
g++ -c -O2 -pthread -Wall -Wextra -Wformat -Wformat-security -Wno-unused-parameter -g -DUSE_IPV6 -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -I/root/macrocoin/src -I/root/macrocoin/src/obj -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -fno-stack-protector -fstack-protector-all -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2  -MMD -MF obj/init.d -o obj/init.o init.cpp
g++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.7/README.Bugs> for instructions.
make: *** [obj/init.o] Error 4

I checked the build_unix.txt again.

What I couldn't do was
Code:
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev

it resulted in:

Code:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package libdb4.8-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'libdb4.8-dev' has no installation candidate

Instead I did

Code:
sudo apt-get install libdb5.1++-dev   libdb5.1-dev
was that the right choice?  Could that be the source of the problem?

The thing that annoys me most about this is that the devs are still completely anonymous. Every time a coin comes out we'll be wondering... is this the macro guys???  Undecided

Did it work? At this point does it matter? You may also run into similar issues with libboost*

apt-get yes worked. libboost no problem.

Still the same issue remains

> Does it matter?

For this soon-forgotten coin, it might not matter - but I need to find out, what makes my compiler crash, don't I ?

Code:
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

/bin/sh ../share/genbuild.sh obj/build.h

g++ -c -O2 -pthread -Wall -Wextra -Wformat -Wformat-security -Wno-unused-parameter -g -DUSE_IPV6 -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -I/root/macrocoin/src -I/root/macrocoin/src/obj -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -fno-stack-protector -fstack-protector-all -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2  -MMD -MF obj/init.d -o obj/init.o init.cpp

g++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)

I have Almost 27 MCR via coingains moe. Still on the 0.25 difficulty. Will be 2 soon. Don't know what to make of a relaunch. Seems to be working fine now. Would be good to share the source and get a competent dev to take over.
