Hi Delmoss,

Welcome to the Bitcointalk.org forums.

Where have you looked to buy bitcoins? Where do you live? If you live in USA you can buy them at Exchangebitcoins.com by depositing cash at Bank of America or Wells Fargo.
https://www.exchangebitcoins.com

ExchB works well if you mainly want to buy a few coins to get started. If you are looking to buy a large amount to invest the Big Gorilla is mtgox.com but I have never used them.

There's also TradeHill.com, though I've not used them (or Mt.Gox either).

I don't think he's referring to the exchanges, but rather the fact that you can't put money into Bitcoins like you can on 95% of the rest of the internet. You have to go through backwards hoops, use sites you've never heard of to get funds into your account so you can use the Exchanges.

This is a problem that someone seriously should find a solution to. If you have a large investment in Bitcoins, it would probably be in your best interests to find a solution to this,  more people would be apt to buy bitcoins and drive the price up. From what Iv'e seen on the forums, is that everyone is content with the things are now, because they've already gone through the hoops and hurdles of these sites. Newcomers still have to go through it.

If you're outside USA it can be pain buy some BTC (well not if need only 3-5 but if need some 100's is it).
Lot of transactions requires payment with methods not accepted in Europe
Exchanges like mtgox requires that you make a SEPA transfer to your account. That's kind of transaction can took up to 3 working days, in 3-5 days prices can fluctuate a lot and I'm not confortable to keep more then few bucks freezed on the account of a exchange (and transferring money back to you can cost a transaction fee).
There are places like bitmarket.eu, in which you place an offer at a choosed price and then transfer the money to the seller that accept that price, but that's kind of exchange have similar or even worse problem: I've placed on 9/19 an offer for some BTCs, after few minutes someone placed a 800BTC offer just over mine. It took 2 days to close all the buy (with 12 different small transactions)  and today I've still to receive half of the BTC payed because money are not arrived by friday to 2 of the sellers (I think that it took at least other 12-15 hours to do). That's make me loose a good buy on a site because I don't have enough money to do the transaction  Cry

On the other side is really difficult to imagine a way to make transaction fast and secure for both buyers and sellers.

If you don't mind paying a premium there are some ways to pay using a credit card:

There might be someone willing to exchange locally for cash:

Hi Delmoss and welcome to the forum  Smiley

You are having the same problem I had (and I suspect MANY others are still having). Try one of the links posted above but I'd probably avoid the exchanges at first just because it can be very complicated/frustrating to get setup.
