This is a bit much, but I would not say it has improved society as a whole, maybe family relations with the connectivity and ability to see each other's lives from across the globe. On a societal level is it iffy at best.

addictive and most misused technology. There's this narcissistic trend on people posting

I have to disAgree, its rather the easiest,fastest and most updated source of news and articles around the world and from our friends are. Consider it as a way of communicating around with anyone around the world. If crimminals or terrorist would us this as a medium of communication then theyre in truble because privacy around this media are thin, If they are to chat, they would use ip blocking or jamming device so that they would not be interfered by outside ears. For the record, FB produces a lot of possitivity than the latter.
