I'm launching ZOMBIECOIN [ZMB] soon.

You can find out more at http://www.zombie-coin.org

My daughter inspired me to create these for fun. The code is done and I'm trying to decide on a release date. Any suggestions on a fair release date would be welcomed.

I'll post more details later today but there's NO PREMINE; with the exception of a couple hundred blocks to test it out.

Zombiecoin is one of three coins I made. The other two are [VMP] VAMPIRECOIN and [LYC] LYCANCOIN. They can be found at http://www.vampirecoin.org and http://www.lycancoin.org, respectively.

***Additional Information***

RELEASE DATE: NOW LIVE

First off, YES!, Zombiecoin is another altcoin based on Litecoin sourcecode. However, I didn’t create Zombiecoin as a ‘pump and dump’, get rich scheme and I hope the lack of premine (other than a couple hundred blocks for testing) proves that.

Zombiecoin is part of a three coin set which includes Lycancoin and Vampirecoin. All coins are identical in coding and only vary in the number of coins per block. I created these coins primarily because my five year old daughter loves all things monster (especially zombies, werewolves and vampires) and we thought it would be fun.

Vampirecoin, Zombiecoin & Lycancoin were created with initial block coin generation ratios of 1:17:495, respectively. The initial per-block generation rates are 6 Vampirecoins, 102 Zombiecoins and 2970 Lycancoins. I’m curious to find out if the long term mining dedication for these coins varies from these initial ratios.

Even though these coins were created for fun, I’ve done my best to be as serious about their success as I can. Each coin has a dedicated website and I’ve setup dedicated nodes to support each of them. If the coins pick up in popularity, I will continue to add nodes as needed.

Zombiecoin Specifications:
- 2 hour block difficulty retargeting
- 2.5 minute block target
- 6 confirmations for transactions
- 30 confirmations for minted blocks
- 102 coins per block
- 170,000,000 total coins
- Difficulty halving at 800k blocks (@ 3.8 years)
- Default ports are 58871 (RPC) and 58872 (P2P)

Pre-Release Status:
-Linux/UbuntuFiles completed and tested, ready for release
-WindowsFiles completed and tested, ready for release
-ApplePending - Will not be included in the release Files completed and tested, ready for release
-Source Files - Will be released on github.com

Release Files:

- Source Files - http://www.github.com/zombiecoin/zombiecoin-release

I thank both the Litecoin developers and Bitcoin developers in advance for their work since there’s no way I’d ever be able to code this from scratch.

BOUNTY

Help me get rid of some of those pre-mined development blocks. I'm giving two blocks worth (204 coins) to the first 25 people who post their Zombiecoin wallet addresses. That will eat up 50 blocks right there. Only one award per user profile per wallet.

Releasing 3 coins at once. No details. All generic clones.

Unless you're actually going to support these coins for years to come, and actively develop them, don't bother please.

Update - I've updated the installation instructions on the website for folks running a Mac to include how to install the necessary dependencies required to run the client.

If this is your first go around with running Bitcoin, Litecoin or any altcoin on a Mac then I'd recommend you try pre-loading the dependencies now.
Please let me know if there's any errors or problems following the tutorial.
Thanks!

Yeah, sorry, just you and 3 coins? I just don't feel like you will make any development towards it. There is already a zombie coin as others have pointed out, Zed, and it has active development :/

It's cool and all that you say you are doing this for your daughter for fun or something, but there's too many coins flooding the market already for just random ones to be thrown around.

You have noticed how popular Zombies are, haven't you? Imagine the type of people who will love this altcoin.

Halloween costume shops can take ZMB in their stores. You get the idea  Grin
