Even God can not give you an accurate forecast of the price of bitcoin. There are indirect signs that the price will not fall below. But how long will she hold the position of about 6-6,5 thousand dollars, no one knows. But even today's price is a good indicator. I will be glad if bitcoin is not lower.

I believe that we must cross the $10,000 and stay there for a while consistently to show some strength against the bears. If we are not able to beat the $10,000 mark again confidence may be broken and we'll keep stagnating for a while, who knows how long such bear market would take, some point up to 2020. In any case, try to buy monthly, specially when we stay more or less stuck in a certain range like all smart bulls did during the $150-300 range that lasted for a long time after the MtGox crash, that is when you make the money. The trick is finding out what the equivalent of the $150-300 period is going to this time, could be lower or could already be this awkward $5000-6500 spot, if I had no coins I would start buying nonetheless even if it goes lower.

Hi Legendaries!  Any strong predictions as to when will the bitcoin will rise from today's price?

Gathering wise answers from you  Smiley  Thanks Guys! Cheesy

Whatever the rank of a member here is I can assure you that nobody will be able to give you the right answer.
Short to mid term things are very unpredictable at the moment. We are making making many Bart and reverse Bart patterns. Cheesy
So these are unexpected and very sharp up or down moves followed by some sideways action before another Bart move happens.
Long term (2-3 years from now) we will go up! We will go up a lot!!!

Latest developments in the bid sum / ask sum on major exchanges support a bullish development, at least short term.
Also there is a possibility to form bullish double bottoms in 12h, 24h and 3D MACD, with respect to the April lows.
However, even if these bullish developments become real, the following rally could turn out to be a wave B.

What are you looking at in bid/ask sum developments?

I see the ask having bottomed out in fiat relative to post crash levels. This is probably the most bullish signal.

Bid has been steadily increasing since the start of the fall from 8xk. Bid depth tends to inch up during glades.

It will rise when nobody expecting it. When there is no more hope. When you stop checking prices daily. And we are far away from that point.

This guy is legendary.

I am not a legendary rank but I am trying to add opinions here, it is not easy to do bitcoin price predictions, but some days there is an increase in prices and news about some countries like India has allowed its people to crypto, both of which I think is still difficult to make predicted but big hope bitcoin back at least up to 15k on this year, hopefully this is waiting for results, and success for all of us

Good to see an old schooler here from the 2011 days. Too many have disappeared over the years. Then again I'm guilty of not checking the forum much anymore either. Times they are a changin'.

Just because you're legendary, doesn't necessarily mean you know anything about bitcoin.

All it means is that you signed up to this forum a few years back. Doubt there would be many who got merit to be legendary.

Anyway, price has been hovering lately I'll say 7k, with alot of altcoins tanking as they fail to deliver after their icos in late 2017.

The general market direction will be down for the near term. We may get a relief rally in the next month or so but it will likely be short lived. And we probably won't get over $10k.

My best guess is that we will be seeing a lot of sideways action in the $3k - $5k range for a long time, possibly years.

And I agree with  BitcoinNewbie15 that the next major rally is most likely in 2019/20.

I could of course be completely wrong... Smiley
I am actually waiting to see how that is going to be playing out in the long term anyway.

Nevertheless for now, nothing is actually guaranteed and like you said, at this stage, it is normal to be wrong, knowing how volatile the market can be. For now, we are in a bear trend, there could be some little upward movement before going lower again, and we could just start dropping immediately. We just have to wait and see how that would be like anytime soon, but predicting the future is what no one can do.

there is a lot of contradictory "talk" about bitcoin price which the speakers call "prediction" and the thing I have figured out is that those who talk a lot about bitcoin price know the least about it and mainly are making guesses.
in many cases they guess a price first then start making up reasons and analysis to justify their guess.

what I am trying to say is that if someone is good at it then they won't just randomly come to a random topic and share their thoughts with you. you have to try and learn the market movements and come up with your own speculation.

It will rise when nobody expecting it. When there is no more hope. When you stop checking prices daily. And we are far away from that point.

another sign is when FUD is at its peak. for instance the 2014 reversal started after Mike Hearn (bitcoin core developer) called bitcoin "dead" and "failing" and crashed the market. of course that was 1 FUD among many.

You shouldn’t trust or trade based on what Legendary members say, many of us know no more than a Noob when predicting specific times of price breakouts.

Your safest bet is to HODL until after the next halving (approx May 2020). Again only my opinion,  believe that we will see 1 bitcoin at a value of over $50,000 then.

Do your own research though & don’t trade based on what anybody else says. We’ve been in a bear market for around 6 months now, many people are predicting lower prices. If you can HODL for a few years though then now is a cheap time to buy & you’ll almost certainly get good profits if you buy now & wait a few years.

I'll second that. I have Hero status simply on virtue of having signed up and been active here for almost two years. Had I remembered my original account login details from even farther back, I'd likely have been Legendary within months of using Bitcoin in 2016 - that wouldn't have been an accurate reflection of my knowledge then, it's by no means a reflection of the knowledge I possess today!

That said, I guess actively following Bitcoin's price for a long period of time tells the Legendaries that there's benefit to ignoring price movement in the short term. It's taught me, even in my short time, that "all this has happened before and all this will happen again".

As LFC says, it's just been 6 months. We know the market's been in years-long downtrend so we can't dismiss the possibility of another long "winter".
