oh yeah i have also heard of this news and i was very happy because it would have retarded the bounty campaigns that several forum members are involved in. I also think the managers of facebook have thought about it twice and noticed that there have a lot of members who are into crypto activities and so banning their activities would mean they should move to another platform which of course would be twitter. Hence making twitter have more users than ever.

Good job, Facebook. Probably realised that a total ban is not gonna work. People would still find a way to beat the system. Regulation is always the better option than permanent ban.

It is a mind-blowing news. I believe that it will change the total scenario now. The cryptocurrency market will be benefited by the positive action of facebook. Facebook is a big platform and I hope that cryptocurrency add in facebook will make it more popular and acceptable between people.

This is good news.  It will help a lot in cryptocurrency circle. For several months also that Facebook bans the ads regarding crypto, and lifting it is a sign of relief. More good news please to combat hose negativity. Bitcoin  suffers too much too.

Facebook has announced that it is revising its blanket ban on all cryptocurrency advertisements on the social media site.

The announcement highlights that this is a revision of Facebook’s cryptocurrency policy, rather than a removal of the policy altogether. For example, advertising for binary options and ICOs are still banned.

About the ban policy, Facebook Bussiness writes:

In the last few months, we’ve looked at the best way to refine this policy — to allow some ads while also working to ensure that they’re safe. So starting June 26, we’ll be updating our policy to allow ads that promote cryptocurrency and related content from pre-approved advertisers. But we’ll continue to prohibit ads that promote binary options and initial coin offerings.

However, cryptocurrency-related services and businesses, such as exchanges, will now be allowed to run ads.

The History of the Controversial Ban
As CCN reported, Facebook put a complete ban in place for cryptocurrency advertisements during the January 2018 run-up and ICO craze. This was also a time of rampant ICO scams, before regulators started their crackdown in earnest. Facebook’s decision came as part of its goal of protecting users from fraud and theft.

Still, the ban generated heated back-lash as crypto enthusiasts saw it as anti-contemplative and chilling of legitimate businesses. As CCN reported, leaders in the financial industry spoke out publicly against the new policy. Global cryptocurrency groups in Russia and Asia also filed suits against Facebook for the ban.

Facebook’s Motives Questioned
Not everyone was satisfied with Facebook’s reasons for the ban. In early 2018, CCN reported that Facebook was developing its own blockchain internally. This followed Mark Zuckerberg’s January announcement that the company was looking into cryptocurrencies and their decentralized technologies as a ‘fix’ for Facebook.

The company had also tapped a Coinbase board member to run their blockchain initiate, as CCN reported. Facebook has yet to launch any blockchain or cryptocurrency technologies publicly, however.

Many spoke out that the ban was part of a bigger plan to push out competitors if and when Facebook launched its own blockchain.

Google’s and Twitter’s Crypto Ad Bans
Google and Twitter followed suit with their own bans on crypto advertisements around the same time Facebook did.

It remains to be seen whether these giants, which generate much of their revenue from selling advertisements, will revise their policies as well. However, as regulators have become more pro-active and vocal on securities laws, the confusion surrounding crpyto businesses and ICOs is improving immensely from the craze of late 2017 and early 2018.

This is good this actually is a safety net for many people who are gulliable enough to get persuaded just by seeing an ad in the social media sites and getting scammed along the way. The social media industry must ensure the safety of its user and i could agree more with them.👍

That's a very good news! If Facebook removes the bans on cryptos, more people will come in exposure to cryptocurrency. As such, more people will be interested to invest on Bitcoin.

This is a good reversal of the previous situation. Facebook will allow crypto ads as long as they are not related to ICOs, which is a good start. As soon as the regulations are implemented, social networks should be more tolerant of token sales as well

It's become their policy for controlling the regulation but as long as FB still want to promote any part of cryptocurrency, I'm sure that still bring positive affect toward global market.
Crypto always improve into more advance and better so do the government right ?

To be honest, I did not see any damn difference between the time the ads where allowed and after they baned something.
My feed was and is full of crypto related stuff, YouTube also.
Sometimes i feel that YouTube is trying to brainswash me, showinf the same ad over and over again.

That's right! It's time for such a progressive network as Facebook to reconsider its outdated and conservative views! Honestly, Facebook is like an old hardcore nag, which at the sight of something new starts to panic.

I have always wondered how the price and different flows of people's efforts and emotions are manipulated. only recently said that the cryptocurrency and their mention will be banned, as already changed their minds. this is a typical example of the fact that you can not succumb to manipulation and keep your ideas constantly. therefore, those who hold coins hold. who plans to enter-now the prices are the best

I think it is a pretty fair revision as ICOs were starting to get out of control with too many scams happening, but there are still many legit companies within crypto that could benefit from targeted ads. It does make me wonder if FB may be interested in launching their own cryptocurrency in the future, and having a blanket ban would have been contradicting. Either way I am glad to see they will be doing some filtering.

Probably more and more users will be persuaded because of the ads that will be allowed to be launched that is more secured and it undertakes steps to ensured that scams would not be advertised, as well as the personal interest of others. With this steps made by the facebook they probably seen the good effect of bitcoin to them because of the billion users of the said application, who can see the ads that soon to be launched.

Yeah I already heard it,  and it called me to think, that if Facebook reviewed their decision about cryptocurrencies ban, the same way countries which have banned bitcoin can review and cancel their decisions.

This is why Facebook became a giant. They know what’s good for everyone. Regulating something is better than a total ban.

This is great news and it is very relieving to hear this because this brought about a huge uproar in the whole crypto community. Facebook is one of the social media platforms that is a very popular place to promote Initial Coin Offerings. Cryptocurrencies will surely go far as many societies are beginning to accept it.
