Bitcoin Garden: DECENT Organizes Yet Another Global Hackathon, This Time in Berlin https://bitcoingarden.org/decent-organizes-yet-another-global-hackathon-this-time-in-berlin/DECENT, the company behind its proprietary open-source blockchain platform, DCore, has just announced yet another hackathon as part of the Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon global series. For this event, the company has chosen the German capital city of Berlin as the venue location, which is nowadays known as the biggest blockchain hub in the world. Participants will compete for a prize of 20,000 DCT, as well as mentorship and collaboration opportunities with DECENT, and an exclusive trip to attend the next Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon in Shanghai, courtesy of Wanxiang Blockchain Labs.
The latest hackathon event, titled Blockchain4Good: Shaping Smart Sustainable Cities for the Future, will take place for the duration of two days, from July 20 to 22. DECENT has decided to partner up with Impact Hub, the largest world network focused on impactfully building entrepreneurial communities.
DECENT’s initial hackathon in Bratislava, that took place in May, was met with significant success. Four young developers from Vienna came up with a blockchain project, Werbifi, aimed at selling advertisement space on public Wi-Fi captive portals, and the team took home the grand prize of 20,000 DCT.... |

Bitcoin Garden: DECENT Finds Its Berlin Hackathon Winners https://bitcoingarden.org/decent-finds-its-berlin-hackathon-winners/DECENT, the company behind its proprietary blockchain platform, DCore, and creators of the highly successful mobile blockchain app store, ALAX, decided to pick Berlin, Germany as the second destination for its Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon, this time titled Blockchain4Good: Shaping Smart Sustainable Cities for the Future, after the successful May premiere in Bratislava.
DECENT chose the capital of Germany, Berlin, which is nowadays known as the hub for blockchain – a young but bright star on the rise in the world of this progressive technology – and such rising technologies need constantly new ideas. The exposure comes in form of hackathons, sprint-like events for IT enthusiasts who compete to come up with the best creative projects.
The event lasted two and a half days, from July 20-22. As for the location, DECENT partnered with Impact Hub Berlin, an immense co-working space. Together, they welcomed more than 60 attendees, which was much more than anticipated. For more than 70 hours, 5 teams competed to win 20,000 DCT, a collaboration and mentoring opportunity with DECENT, and a trip to Shanghai to attend an iconic annual blockchain gathering, Shanghai International Blockchain Week, courtesy of DECENT’s new partner, Wanxiang Blockchain Labs.... |
