I'm not sure about that, now coming mass withdrawal from bitstamp.
The recent statement is only regarding BTC, not fiat. tomorrow or in a few days bitstamp will block fiat withdrawal, the same as MtGox. Interesting. Reasoning? Source? It is a logical sequence of events No, it is not. interested me, how will MtGox and Bitstamp pay around 2 billion USD in a short time. I think they do not have money, its just ponzi scheme.

If an exchange is performing regular, valid audits and is operating in the black, then it most certainly has the money to cover withdrawals.

That's a BIG IF.

Since Bitstamp is the center of the economic universe for Bitcoin we should hope that it does, otherwise it was a weak link all along.

It's remarkable how little is publicly known about these exchanges .. Damn near anything could be going on. As long as the withdrawals keep working, nobody bats an eye.

With the recent arrests, Apple removing blockchain app, and Mtgox melting down....we just need 1 more piece of bad news to get cheap, sub-$500 bitcoins.
Come on guys, more bad news and FUD for cheap bitcoins!
You were obviously wrong. Transaction malleability thing still didn't even cause a drop to $600. You are... a bag of wrong.
