If your electric rate is high above 20 cents.  Asic is really the only way to go. Don't bother with gpus.  You don't want to find out after 1 year you won't be able to ROI.

When things become unprofitable mining and electric rates exceed income you always have the option to ship your asic miner to a miner hosting facility.  Its not easy to do that with gpu rigs due to weight, size, shipping cost, and also gpus requires more reboots, and less plug and play.

GPU's favors those with low electric rates in a bear market.
