How can mtgox publish a live price of bitcoin if they are in a big trouble?

How can a company or a system decide the price of bitcoin if they can't buy or sell any bitcoins right now?

This make me think that mtgox is a big scam company and even the price they show is not real and not based by anything.

I am sure that if the price of bitcoin in mtgox was real right now it would be below $200.

Also before the price of bitcoin in mtgox was very high compared to other exchanges, if that was real any people could buy cheap bitcoins in other exchanges and then sell them at a higher price in mtgox making a lot of money, then with that money you could buy more bitcoins at a lower price and then sell them again to mtgox.

The more I think about bitcoin the more I see that everything is a scam.

If i'm right, then you can actually trade on mtgox but you can't get fiat/btcs out of the site.

Exactly. People disagree on whether or not BTC can be withdrawn on Monday, hence the trades.

It was a nice surprise to wake up this morning, and the price stabilized off a little (even if only temporarily)

The prices on Mt. Gox have been meaningless for months. Nobody could get dollars or euros out in large amounts.

Amusingly, more suckers people are now noticing that the Mt. Gox price is fake, because it's now lower than the other exchanges.
