I know that most of bounty managers are asking for email address on Google form for participate  bounty campaign.



Basically they will handover spreadsheet to ICO team. So there will also include email.  They mention they will not sold or show on public. So why need to ask for email ? Is it necessary for get pay ? I don't think so. I think only eth address is enough for get token.

There are many risk for submitt email to ICO team or manager. They might be sale or hack account. Too many spam mail send. Even maximum people not submit their original email. But I think managers should stop asking for email and handover to third party.

Obviously, it's not necessary to get paid, but as a requirement, it will be.
Some bounties really requires email in order to participate and you were right, it is somehow risky to put your email that's why it is much better if you create "dummy email" and use it to these kind of bounties instead of using your main account. As far as I know, also based in my experienced, they ask for the email so that they can send notifications/updates about what's going on in their ICO. It's a little annoying when I've got a lot of notifications from these bounties (when I was a Newbie who loves joining bounties and Airdrops from telegram). You were also right that sometimes they sent spam mails.

Actually, we can't stop these bounty Managers to stop collecting emails, you can't just go to their bounty and tell them what to do. It's their strategy to use their participants's emails to send out activities from their ICO and it's up to their participants if they will risk their main email account, if they were a little bit wise they will create dummy emails.

Whatever the manager states is necessary, is necessary. Whatever a participant, in this case you, thinks is or isn't necessary is irrelevant.
That put aside, this will result in data sales and spam.

I noticed on your profile that you don't have your e-mail public.  If the above statement is true, you have nothing to worry about, right?  Right.  There's a lot wrong with having to give up your e-mail address.  I would say if you can get away with providing a dummy one, that would be the way to go with bounties.  If it's not information they need in order for you to do your "job" then I wouldn't trust any of them with it.  They'll probably sell it to spammers, and you'll find your inbox filled with shit you don't want, and in addition it's another piece of anonymity that's lost.

I see, my bad, I never experienced such cases except Spam. But atleast spam messages won't take anything away from me. But I'm pissed-off with it, seriously, whenever I open internet then kaboom. They're all in my inbox.

Yes, like almost everybody else do I hid it. It's also for my own safety. I said that giving away your email is not really bad for the first place but as long as there are people who wouldn't take advantage of it, the problem is, there are lot of people who will.

This isn't really a forum issue. Most campaigns won't need it but they could be asking for it for a variety of reasons. Some will likely use it to contact you or even spam you, but they could just be collected and sold to the highest bidder. The usernames and emails of people who are interested or involved with crypto (and especially bounties) are very valuable to scammers and ICO campaigns because it's a great way of getting their ICO out there (and your money ultimately). If you are worried about any potential abuse of your email either A) Don't join that bounty, B) Give them a fake email, or C) Use a throwaway that you don't care about.

Is not necessary when it comes to payment but because it is required by the project team probably to enable them to send promotional emails or future updates about their project.

The rule is pretty simple OP. If you do not like the requirement of the bounty, then dont sign up for that bounty, and you are in no place to control what some companies need in their bounty campaign, since you are just a worker.

Dont like it, leave it, they dont insist you to join the campaign.

OP, a simple rule for bounty hunters:

Use one new mail for forum and never share it, use a different new one email for bounties and ignore all messages you will get on that email.

The most possible reason for why they wanted to ask you to give your email is to sending email from the project or in the other words, you have to subscribe to their newsletter in order to join the bounty.

The real problem is this spreadsheets is public and anyone can have access to them, I always use a second email not my main to bounties require emails and no one can blame me, if I show you this alternative email of mine, it is full of phishing emails trying to steal my wallets and my accounts . So even if they promised not to sell,share and even if you trust the project team, there is still huge threat coming from making this sheets public .

The solution to your real problem is finding a bounty which not asking for your email or find a bounty which doesn't publish your email address publicly. Though, giving your email address to someone who will pay you in the future is a bad idea. You might be paid someday, but you won't stop receiving emails from them in all day long.

I also think so, it does not really mean anything with us sending an email or not sending an email. I'm here not knowing what's in it for sending an email. maybe for confirmation? but from the first I became bounty. the token still goes in my wallet, without any email confirmation. hackers that are part of the problem. I am afraid someday someone will break into my account. although the content is not altogether, but it is still valuable to me

I also disagree and do not like the requirement to submit an email at the time of registration bounty. because our emails will be visible to the public and after that we often get weird messages, spam and even phising.

Sharing email address is depends on the process of campaign and types of campaigns.
For e.g.:-
Sometime bounty ty managers ask participants to submit email address too and at the end of bounty campaign they ask to complete kyc through same email address by signing up on ico website.

I am not sure here but I am sure that there was an campaign which needs to submit users or participants email address to verify users participation.

You can't stop spammers to spam you. You don't know how many campaigns you joined so it's impossible to trace the campaign manager who sold your email address.

These bounties are paying you to perform some services.
I'm this case they are also paying for your email address, so they can tag you as a customer, or make a huge email database and sell it.

I know what you feel man but you should get used to it since you do participate on their bounty program then you dont have any choice but to comply on whats being asked but you do really still have the option not to participate its your own choice since there are still some projects dont require such info. Ive encounter those kind of sheets that ask email but i do only make use of Dummy gmails therefore i dont really care if they would spam out that email with trash ones.
