I have been hearing about the current issues with new sapphire bios and vrm problems in the 280X cards resulting in low hash rate.

Which brands 280X are best currently in terms of bios, vrm, good has rate and cooling?

we exclusively use GB 280x Rev 2. 740KH/s, easily undervolted, run cool, are almost silent at 80% fan, and are just flat awesome.

Did you bought it earlier like last year or very recently?

The fact is old Sapphire 280X were good too,but now they are worth lot of troubles.

I am trying to find out which cards currently(meaning even if they have been modified like Sapphire 280X) are best for mining.
Both. Just got more in last week, and even more coming in this week. The newer ones run at a higher stock voltage, which means a lower binned chip but hash just the same.

Lower binned chip you mean low life span?
No, I mean a lower asic % quality. It just means it will require a higher voltage to run at the same clocks.

Our first batch came with a 1.13v stock, and we could down volt to 1.01v. The new ones came with a 1.20v stock, and we can only go as low as 1.07v.
