edit: game is removed for violation of copyright. Kinda expected it. I'll leave the thread up and you can ask me any questions about this project or about game developing.

Hello, bitcointalk!

I have made a clone of the Flappy Bird game since the original got removed by its owner and cannot be downloaded anymore. I aimed to make Flappy Fowl as similar to the original as possible.

If anyone has an Android device, you can download it here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thingymagic.FlappyFowl&hl=en

Please do post your opinions of the game and any suggestions here into this thread and I'll reply to every suggestion.

Also feel free to share it with all your friends - this is hot topic currently and I'd greatly appreciate any publicity you could give me.

Thanks! Smiley

Yeah, I just feel like I can do better than all the other remakes.

It wasn't taken down for copyright reasons, it was because the author didn't want to keep it up himself anymore.

Just taking advantage of the opportunity - sure.

But I'm not receiving any profits for this and this is just for fun. Smiley

I'm not stealing any money. At worst, you might say that I'm "stealing" the attention that is surrounding the game.

Regardless, I'll be releasing some original games of my own soon too.
I'm currently working on several different projects, but I temporarily stopped those to remake the game that I'm a big fan of and I only mean it as a gesture of goodwill to the fans and to the original developer.

You will get money for this from ads, you've copied the game hence stealing money.

No. I don't have any ads enabled. When I said I don't get any money from this, I really do mean it.

Damn, that is pretty sad to see indeed.

Just for the reference, I don't want anyone thinking my app is bad, so I'll quickly mention that it didn't require any special priviledges and it was removed from the Android store for copyright reasons.

I saw the same happen to tons of other "Flappy _" games on app store so I wasn't surprised and kinda expected it might happen to me.

I was able to reach 16k total downloads and about 5k people still have the game installed.

I'm happy with the result and hopefully the games I'll release in the future will have similar or even greater success. Smiley

I still don't understand flappy birds was so successful but so simple and people spent a long time on the game without any story or any thing.
