Don't think that they will totally disappear but will simply lose most of the value, coins will become in real problem if they don't manage to keep any nodes online.

Lot of altcoins and have came into market but turned to scam, abandoned by devs and have turned out to be useless due to hacking. I think that yes, they can do that. ETH came out in 2014(and it was no the first alt as far as I know) so it needs 1 more year to be at the age of 5. I think that it will easily overcome 10 year point.

If bitcoin last 5 years then altcoin will be last for the next 5 years. Because Altcoins are a major part of the cryptocurrency. Before altcoins, Bitcoin wasn't popular globally.
