If I should move this to the gambling section, please tell me. I was interested in starting a site that is similar to a sports betting site but for league of legends and hopefully other games in the future. I see so many sports betting sites for bitcoin, but I believe that the majority of bitcoin users have atleast some interest in starcraft, league of legends, dota, counter strike, etc. If anyone thinks that this is a good idea or has any criticism I would really appreciate the feedback. If you could also contribute to the creation of this site, that would be amazing ^_^.

I think NitrogenSports.eu also has e-sports betting. Best of luck on your future site! Smiley

Just checked out the site. Looks pretty polished and well organized. It seems like a very well run site, so I am thinking about changing my idea around a bit.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to just create a very small league of legends betting site. Just simple and straight-forward.

I'll be willing to invest in this endeavor, if it is possible. Wink

Wait really?! I appreciate this so much.

Sorry about the very brief explanations that I previously provided :/ I have been trying to crank out an essay so I have very little time today. I just had to make a thread about this since I couldn't get the idea out of my head and have been thinking about it for weeks.

I often bet on games with my friends IRL, but recently they have not been betting as much, which made me kind of dissapointed and sprouted this idea. I will post my skills/assets later on this evening along with more details as to how I would go about doing this.

I just think that betting on e-sports games makes them much more interesting to watch ^_^.

Interesting idea. If you need contacts in the industry, pm me. I worked in esports a few years ago.

Alright, thank you! Glad to see you think the idea is interesting Smiley. I'll be sure to message you tomorrow once I have a better outline of how I am going to execute this project.

This wont take off if you think small.
You need to have most of the MLG tournaments in mind. That's what will bring you players.
Dota2, LoL, Hon, Smite, Stracraft 2, CS:GO, TF2, CoD, PES, FIFA, Madden, NBA2k14.
We really could use a project like this, There are no betting websites for e-sports and people are willing to pay for it. I'm pretty sure of it.
If you really want to see this through, get ready to make a good investment. It is a go big or go home thing.

I agree that there should be a dedicated site to just e-sports betting, but sites like nitrogenbetting and bitbook or w/e already have some e-sports betting along with their majority of major sports.

I guess I am kinda torn on what to do. Keeping up with all of the e-sports games seems like too much work for me alone, but with others it may be possible.

You definitely need more people involved. You need to be able to keep up with the markets and need some stringent terms of use and anti-fraud checks to monitor strange bets with dodgy results. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_e-Sports_Association#Match_Fixing_Controversy and http://kotaku.com/dota-2-match-fixing-shows-e-sports-still-learning-from-513712482

Alright I understand what you mean, but I just think that starting small would be my best option :/.

Think big.  Shocked

But first find a programmer willing to create the script for the site, unless you want to code it yourself.

Yeah thing is a lot of btc sportsbook also have an esports option alongside irl sports. Also there is bit.gg which is only esports betting. I'm sure if you marketed it correctly you could succeed.

Yeah, I really need to find someone that can help me out with the script. If you or anyone else viewing this thread knows anyone that would be able to help me out, please let me know. I am willing to pay and/or be co-owners of the site. I am not too experienced in scripting or web programming in general, my only background is in java and c++.

Hey, im one of the founders of bit.gg a site that does what you're thinking of Smiley if you're interested, what we can do is just provide you the tools for the betting, and you only have to do the website design around it. So you can work directly with our API, PM me if you're intersted,
