According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Don't bet with me, bet with the market. Buy bitcoins now. I am in fiat and believe Gox will do what Gox always does - fail. It's a joke they are still around.

I am, that's exactly the reason why I have no Bitcoins right now. But I'm sorry for your loss if Gox indeed closes and the coins disappeared.

Haaa. Difference between a me and you  I take losses 365 days a year, my profits massively out-weight my losses yearly. Point is I take risks. Have fun holding your funny money gramps.

Has everyone forgotten that this happened in 2012 before?

Their custom bitcoind corrupted their copy of the blockchain and they had to redownload it and withdrawals were closed for 2 days. I am too lazy to link you but search and you'll find it. I don't think they are going anywhere.

Tell me something new. Gox have had withdrawal issues since the day they opened. Thats just how they do business - badly.

Nothing abnormal going on here, just Gox being Gox. I don't think they are going anywhere.

Newbies and Jr Members say Gox will not fail.
Sr Members and Hero Members say Gox will fail.

Hmmmmm

Sounds like the newer members bought in too high and hoping for a miracle, which I believe will not happen. I do not think Gox will close any time soon, but they will not restore withdrawals in a timely matter.

It's now past noon here in Japan and not a peep from Gox. Yup, sounds like things are going well!

Night gathers, and now my bitcoinwisdom watch begins.
