According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

What OS?

What time of day?

What temp when it locks up?

If it is locking up at the hottest part of day then that is pretty easy to explain.  If it is locking up at midnight well that might be something totally different.

Have you tried lowering the core clocks a bit? GPU stability isn't an all or nothing affair. I know there are core clocks for my cards where they will seem fine for hours but still lock up once or twice a day.
