There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Alternatively, it is possible to buy bitcoin while you are in Hawaii.

Aloha, I would invite  HawaiiCoin to be listed at ShorelineCrypto Exchange (https://shorelinecrypto.com) for a listing fee of 0.005 BTC for a dogecoin pair.
Dogecoin is easier to trade and move around and advantageous for users to trade compared to BTC pair.   The exchange also has BTC and LTC to dogecoin pair so that
users can trade to BTC or LTC easily at low fees.  The exchange offers anonymous email sign up, and zero withdraw fees.

Currently ShorelineCrypto also has NewEnglandcoin(NENG) and Quebecoin (QBC) listed at exchange. NewEnglandcoin and Quebecoin are two of largest active north american regional coins trading today.  It would make sense  for Hawaiicoin to join  NENG and QBC in same exchange allowing U.S. users to trade around easily.

Detail of listing: https://shorelinecrypto.com/add_coin

Is it a hard cap at 5M, then PoS only earns transaction fees?
