What are the 6 different crypto currencies you would pick if you were told you have to invest equally in each one, choose 6 different and let them sit in wallets for at least 7 months before you can touch them?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

PTS, XCP
I think doge will fizzle out in 7 months.  Could be wrong tho.
I don't think any of the others bring enough to the table to hold that long without at least a periodic review.

1. Digitalcoin
2. Argentum
3 Securecoin
4. Digitalcoin
5. Argentum
6. Securecoin

Seriously if you dont own these coins, they are vastly undervalued..   Digitalcoin / usd exchange opening within the next day.    Coin had a fair launch, fast transactions, still has the original developer working on the coin, zero forks and big marketing is coming soon.  It has been hiding in the darkness while big project services have been in development by the coin developer and these are about to show there face over the next week Smiley

You have been prewarned......

Worldcoin was on my list, but is going through some teething issues currently, still has a large community that want to see it succeed.  I think its going to take a few step backs (good time to reinvest after the drops)....

3 - 2 - 1 @ 220, the only way to go!

There are a lot of coins people could be considered as a long term coin, but take your list and cut it in half.

If anyone really wants to know what coins are going to make it in the future, a good place to start is making an HONEST checklist of everything a commodity or currency currently does; also, what that cyrpto-coin offers compared to everyone else's crypto coin.

Kind of like, a positive vs negative list.

You will soon come to the conclusion that only a handful are really invest-able, and most of them are not subject to major 1000% jumps and falls within 24-72 hour period.

This is a good way to start making a portfolio.

DGC (slightly risky, but has a very capable developer - Baritus)

--------WARNING--------
Current LTC price is plain scary
Worldcoin seems doomed to me
Mastercoin promises much, but some are highly suspicious about it

Why not create a poll when asking this?

There would be no point in creating a pull

Like many others has said
Quark
Vertcoin
Bitcoin

Can't really think of any other ones really end up being useful. There are some new coins coming out that are promising so list can change.

Why? Make a list of all altcoins, let users choose 6, a lot easier than having to read people listing 6 different coins.

Many alts created recently are nasty garbage/pump and dump with some possible exceptions (i.e. 42 could be good & Doge/Meow are fun especially if both are able to donate "real money" to animal shelters. Also RonPaul coin needs a newsletter scandal to be more affordable  Shocked )

* Namecoin will probably make it long term, despite some bumps in the road.
* If prices fall enough, everything traded on BTC-e is a good buy. FTC is near the all-time low and has a history of huge rallies.
* Devcoin and BBQ are affordable and they have either "Nerd cred" and /or a sense of humor combined with a great name.

If any alts have merchant tools and shopping cart plugins, then please give me a clue.
