I hope no, a dying exchange (especially one as large as MtGox) is bad for Bitcoin either way. They should just fix their shit.

I think people just need to stop using Gox altogether. Once people get their money out of there why would people need or want to use it?

Businesses will come and go. Bad businesses should come and go even faster.

It may be bad for an exchange to go out of business, but gox operating as it currently is seems much more damaging to Bitcoin on a whole. I just wish it'll go away.

Gox have so many problems and their reputation is completely tarnished now. I can't see how they'll recover.

Even newbs will probably finally stay away now. I think they were just working on the hype of their name. It's surprising that it managed to operate for as long as it did.

I doubt it'll die, but with the negative publicity, it will of course become low on the totem pole.

they fucked up multiple times. Others are maybe more capable in their operations? Other, smaller exchanges should get a chance to be established too. Centralization of trading like in the case of gox goes against the logic of btc. When an exchange has become so big that it can manipulate btc-prices with their actions it is time to start to think and go to other exchanges because that power is abused. There is really no rational reason to supprt the biggest player. Why? To make life even harder for the smaller ones? One day you wake up and you can only trade at gox because everybody else died. And then you complain because you have nowhere to go to and they can do everything to you. That 'i support the first mover' logic is unhealthy for evolution. It is the microsoft, coca cola, mcdonalds, facebook mentality. Choke on it!
