the SEC is reviewing soon the idea of ETFs for bitcoin, which will cause a dramatical uptrend for the future! Bitmex CEO said in a interview at CNBC that end of year we can maybe reach 50k$ per bitcoin!


If the SEC is willing and approving ETFs , it will rock, as private investors and companys are able to invest with REAL money, and have an insurance through the bank.


this will cause a mainstream cashflow into cryptocurrencies, especially for bitcoin!

I've seen this news, maybe it's just price speculation is nothing more than what will happen the reality may be more bitter, I do not really believe in such media let alone make predictions without seeing how the past bitcoin itself

Bitcoin will rise again near soon just relax and don't dump your assets or you will regret, I believe that bitcoin will have a bull run this year and I'm keeping my assets in my wallets due of I don't want to regret, just have more patience bitcoin will moon again.

i don't know ETFs have been weird so far. the hype of them has been dwindling with each ETF that got rejected by the SEC last year. for example the first one led to a big rise and smaller but still big drop. but i think it was by the third time that nobody even cared about them anymore and price didn't move at all.

and i still say the following statement is wrong, there won't be any cash-flow in bitcoin directly so it won't affect bitcoin directly at all:

I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, this certainly has the potential to increase Bitcoin prices, and will be bringing in investors.

On the other, this might be the nail in the coffin for Bitcoin as a currency. If everyone's investing through ETFs, no one will be trading actual Bitcoins.

We'll see though, I guess.

Don't get your hopes up because no one care about SEC anymore, and also it could be a bad thing for bitcoin as fellow members explained above.
One more thing I highly doubt that bitcoin will will reach 50k in just 6 months.

People continue to speculate about bitcoin, I think words like this will not change the value of bitcoin. Purchases and sales are the real thing that can determine the value of bitcoin. However their words can scare people into buying bitcoin back and I think it is a stupid trick to get bitcoin at a bargain price.

I already saw this news and also was happy, finally the uptrend will return to the cryptocurrency market.

Most of the investors are eagerly waiting for prices to go up so any good news will give relief to investors but if that news just for speculation then we will not see much impact to the market. I'm a crypto believer so I too think prices will surely go up but not confident that within next few months Bitcoin price can hit around 50K or even previous all-time high price 20K. So currently whenever I get some spare money investing in cryptos and holding them tightly.

the keyword is "everyone" which is never going to happen. in fact majority of people want to hold what they buy (by hold i mean have in their possession not hodl and never sell) which means they will always buy bitcoin directly and move it to their wallets to have 100% full control.
using ETFs you would be using a third party and that's not bitcoin anymore.

IIRC, It has been disapproved twice last year so it's not really a big thingy today.

I'm not moved with the ETH anymore so what I want to focus with is with this thing.

If SEC's ETF approval is the only way to make this it's still unknown.

One more thing I highly doubt that bitcoin will will reach 50k in just 6 months.

It's hard to believe but bitcoin from $7,000 - $20,000 took only 4 weeks, correct me if I'm wrong.

There's doubt that the price of bitcoin market will surge if the SEC approve the ETF for bitcoin but that doesn't mean that the price of the bitcoin market will reach $50,000 price range per bitcoin before the end of this year.

This is indeed a good news, but you need to know that a good news alone can not bring the price up. It needs a lot of things, but most importantly is the new cash flow to the bitcoin itself, so it will start the demand of the market and then the price will surely rising.

I hope it can be done in short time because i have something to do with my bitcoin right now.

There are many people waiting for the  perfect entry and I believe this will go down to 4900-5100 before it will skyrocket. Look at the stochastic rsi and rsi of btc/usdt it needs to reset before going up higher

Agreed. Trends are more significant than spikes. I also believe in bitcoin as a long-term investment, but not due to tiny rebounds in a bear market.

Yeah that's right. I don't think a lot of people are trading btc to usd directly since most trade alts to btc so i don't think that'll be much of an issue for majority of traders. It probably will make btc's value a little less volatile.

Bitcoin skyrocketing takes place, but I don't find any reason right now for such an incident. The market is surrounded by good acceptance level and same as that it has got regulations surrounding from different countries. By this time something big as a support from a government from a grown country is a must to make the price skyrocket.
