Do powered risers power all PCI-E slots with a single riser?

If you don't cut the 12v line on a PCIE 16x-->1x powered riser cable, will it power the other PCIE slots?  The 12v line should be shared between all slots, so feeding one should effectively feed all pcie slots on the board.

This would mean only 1 powered riser cable was necessary (similar to using a single EVGA Power Booster to power all pcie slots).

Any idea how the EVGA Power Booster works then?  It claims to feed every PCI-E slot on the board with a single input.  If a powered riser cable has the +12v line soldered onto a pin that goes into the PCI-E slot, would it not then touch the common +12v line that connects all PCI-E slots?

hard to tell about that, theoreticaly if it is working as it stated, than maybe you do not need powered risers at all. Do you have a pic of the motherboard you are using ?

It's not specific to a motherboard (there are a few we are using), but the assumption is that all PCI-E slots are powered off the same 12-v rail, and therefore all connected via the +12v.  If they're all connected, a single powered riser would essentially feed all PCI-E slots.
