I live in Cambodia. This is one of the garment capitals of Asia (if not the world). Lots of factories here for major brands sold in first-world countries.

I never considered working as a product-hunter but if anyone wants to start a long-term business relationship, I'm open to discussing something along the lines of sourcing cheap products here and shipping them to viable markets out there.

My trading experience? Next to nothing. Basically and literally zero experience (as you can see from this being my first and only post). We all have to start from zero so I will trade using escrow only.

Examples of goods I can get--

For numismatic collectors: high quality Cambodian, Vietnam and Thai banknotes.
Original but cheap Adidas, Nike, Puma etc shoes (usually very very small defects so they are rejected by factory's quality control and resold at local markets here at laughably low prices).
Garments (shirts, jeans, non-branded goods)
Others..

Anything except illicit or illegal products. (Cambodian prison sentences are draconian and I'm not looking forward to having rice soup with fish heads for the next 20 or so years)

Would I have to pay import tax from ordering overseas? Are they authentic branded?

No labelled goods over here in Vietnam and Cambodia are authentic...Would they really cost $5 if they were!

You may have to, depending on where you are located. They are definitely not original.

To help me not forget. My Cambodian wife lost her parents and grandparents during those years. Its by not forgetting that one learns to be grateful for today's blessings.

The offer on this thread is no longer active. Please make no offers for a business deal or trade. I checked the markets here and did some more in-depth research about this. Turns out its easier said than done. Lots of things I forgot to take into consideration--

* if sending lots of goods out of this country, one must have an export permit and a business license
* customs charges at recipient's destination
* sourcing of products from wholesale suppliers requires minimum volumes or quantities which I now see can be very unrealistic, considering many on this site would probably not want to start a mall or Walmart store
* risks risks risks.. not sure how to handle the intricacies of moving goods across borders. just checked with my bank and a friend who exports soy sauce to another Asian country and he has the whole nine yards-- a full accounting team, a logistics office, bankers handling his "Letters of Credit", quality control people. LOL.

For a moment I thought I could jump in my car and buy stuff here, then send them overseas. For a moment. Oh well.

This is understandable.  A lot of American men after marrying a woman of Jewish descent change their online aliases to things like HitlerJugend, BabyGoebbels, Himmler1488, and so on too.  It is to remember the past.
