I could but I shouldn't have to report the same thing twice to be seen. Personally, I did report the first two pages of each section, if I'm not mistaken. If he doesn't want to moderate then there is nothing we can do. The French forum is currently unbearable and unusable. The last theymos checked within the french local board there were only 6 reporters within the last 90 days, and these were very low reports counts too. Whether, that's improved or not I don't know.

There aren't enough reports there. Here are the top reporters over the last 90 days, unhandled reports only:

Even if you look at the handled reports over the last 90 days, only a few people have more than 10 reports.

Report bad posts even if you perceive that nothing is being done, as report stats are one of the primary methods I use to look at how moderation is going in a section, and to assess potential new moderators. Pay attention to your report accuracy; I see a lot of reports marked bad in the French sections. (If you think that a report is incorrectly marked bad, complain about that to your local moderator or in Meta.)

My own reports aren't unhandled, they are rejected.. one of them was for a scam project, with about 5/6 false newbie accounts spaming with google translate to up the thread. Nothing done.

This has been said multiple times now, for a local board admins need to see who is the most active and most accurate reporter so that they could select one. you all are complaining there is no moderator to properly handle the reports, the least you could do is by reporting more and more to convince theymos to pick one of you from the list of reporters.

I'm sure theymos will take a look at it again, and base his decision on this. It's not just the fact about who has the highest reports though. Theymos still needs to be able to trust the user to do the job. I see a few members in here seem to think that scams should be reported when in reality scams aren't moderated here on Bitcointalk.

We know that. Theymos explained it to us on February 19.
But five months later, can we find out if for Theymos:
- Everything's going according to plan. Kcud_dab is a good moderator.
- I need a little more time, but you're on the right/bad way.
- Okay, you're right, the situation is no longer bearable, I'll give you an answer soon.

Busy days for the forum staffs (not defending the staffs). There are other local boards that they don't have moderator/s, when there's something happen in the local board and it's not the moderator's fault. The french local board's mess where it is unbearable is because of the people in the local board itself that doesn't care, if there is, it's not enough for the local board to be manage.

Generally, spam is spam,  and should be reported. Obviously, I don't know what you are refering to specifically, but if they are spamming to promote their service or what ever then yeah, it's not allowed. An example, would be the ICOs that use spam bots or spam with alt accounts.

Many users are using the French language without knowing the grammar/vocabulary, as a French we can't really understand what they are trying to say. They're not francophone. Some others are purely using google translate.
But I am giving a few examples of what you can find: How to choose and buy a VPN in the Bitcoin dev. section, Topics about Ripple in the Bitcoin discussion, Airdrop in the Beginner to Bitcoin, introduction members in the News section, spam with referal links about faucets website, scam attempt with users trying to sell a $15 book (you're supposed to make 2 million euros with it) and posting affiliate link with a CPA campaign and so on.... You get the idea now. I am not going to post some links but I can easily find 50 within 10 minutes if needed

This might be the issue, Theymos might be waiting for people to report more posts before he has enough data to appoint a moderator - as he didn't seem to have very much data this time last year with only a few reports.

If there are enough unhandled reports then theymos will have to do something, there also doesn't seem to be anyone willing to moderate the board as both you and JohnUser have said that you have put too much effort into reporting posts and if no one is available to take the spot (and we can't magically produce people to moderate a board).
