from ireland to papua new guinea with NXT

what do you think of the idea of traveling from Ireland to Papua new guinea, with only Nxt as funding doing good deeds along the way for anyone in need.

Obviously i would have to sell allot of Nxt rather than just pay for things with it but i would try to use Nxt as a form of payment whenever i can and i will tip, with Nxt, anyone who helps me.

I could set up an account for anyone who will accept Nxt as a tip/payment and all they will have to do is remember/writedown their pass phrase.

I will be keeping costs as low as possible, staying in hostels or camping where i can. thumbing lifts ect.

I was planning on travelling their anyway and volunteering where ever help is needed along the way and i thought why not try to promote Nxt at the same time?

Any ideas on whether or not this can be done and if it would be supported by the community (i don't mean financially however i would accept any donations and donations will be directly linked to the good deeds) just if you would like me to do something like this and associate myself with the Nxt community? or should i just stick to doing my own thing?

What are your plans? Do you already have some ideas how you could spread the word about Nxt?

if i meet a gifted young child that cant afford to go to school i could put up a donation campaign along with photos to pay for the schools fees or something.
its far from planned but the best things that happen in life are never planned. Penicillin was an accident and changed the world forever.

that is a very good idea. I would be happy to help you with this. You should create a homepage documenting your journey so anyone can see where you currently are and where you need some funds to help people. If you find someone who needs something the community could throw some money together to help you buy them what they need. And then you can document it with some photos and write the an article about it on the homepage. This would be a great way to make some publicity for nxt.

The nxt the community donates for you can then be exchanged by you for btc or fiat if you need some more cash. You should think abput it how you could use the nxt donated. (as I think that there will be no merchants accepting nxt where you are going)

i could actually through together a webpage, one of the few tech skills i have (basic but enough!) although im short on time atm due to assignments and working 40 hours on top. but il sort something out on that front. its hard to say what i will come across.. i dont think i would be the right person to update the site however. i am not a creative writer by any means. perhaps instead i could send a draft of what i have done to someone and they could proof read/re-write it.

i can even record videos of peoples reactions when i tell them what im going to do (for example make a little clip of me telling the child and his/her parents that they have received enough donations to send the child to school. that would be so cool!


i cant do anything untill earliest may and i am waiting on something to come through before i could even afford to do this project (im not going to let the community pay for my trip, donations for people in need yes, my trip halfway round the world, no... lol thats not why im doing it.)

il publicly display a list of all donations and what they are going towards or they will simply be pending a good use and wont be touched until a deserving cause arises.

this is only the idea phase so any suggestions are welcome

We could do a visual donation and spending counter, so it would be easily tracked.

I hope someone like salsacz would like to volunteer a mailing campaign like he did for Nxt itself, as he already has all the addresses for news sources.

on my part just to say again funding is still a question mark, i know i will have the money but when... i cant say for sure.. :/ on the upside if it takes a bit longer then Nxt will be worth more hopefully and go further!

I say we start the site up about a week/week and a half before you leave. That way we can use your preparations to get ready to build some interest.

Pictures will be very important! Be sure to make loads.

But we need to publish payment applications for such companies. SO after bitpay implementation to nxt and after we have nxt payment plugins for websites, we will be able to pay for hotels and travelling with Nxt
