If you watch the Free Bitcoin Sites thread you can stay updated on what sites are working and what ones may be down for various reasons. These sites are verified before being added to the list and are checked everyday by me and other followers of the thread. Being on this site there is the additional safety of the thread being watched by the moderators. By following the Free Bitcoin Sites thread one can read the frequent comments about the experiences others have had with these sites, making it easy - if one doesn't have a lot of time to devote to checking all the sites out - to determine which ones are worth a visit and which ones might be a waste of time. Many of these free BTC site's owners/operators follow the thread as well and will post themselves when there is something to report about their site. If one has an issue with any of these sites, or one wants to contact a particular sites owner/operator, one can ask in the thread to try and get an answer... with some of these sites this might be the only way of contact. Beware of copy-cat threads and web pages, who don't take care to check or maintain their listings and often have dubious sites/links ( sometimes hidden behind url-shortener links... i.e. you can't be sure what site you are actually going to when you click on their links. ) There are very many sites that have their own lists of free bitcoin sites, but many of them are scams and are more interested in helping themselves than in helping newbies to get started in the world of Bitcoin. The link to the Free Bitcoin Sites thread is in my sig. The newbie version of the thread can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90718

I think a LOT of confusions are going on regarding free faucets and everyday I see some new referral being posted with a new faucet link. Ultimately most of this faucets are NOT paying off and the scam label is coming on legit sites as well. So I have decided to maintain a regularly updated list of free faucets which have Tx proof... 1. www.vnbitcoin.org/freebitcoin.phpTx Proof: blockchain.info/tx/075f606fc3963bd00d5258b8d0e3d9a108d42006aacc8ad16acf597fd23cb8c1 2. www.coinlearn.orgTx Proof: blockchain.info/tx/7e93e81f5002f7e991ab0b414db1f2e8f650868341926782a1c91335f2b36d41 3. www.freebitco.inTx Proof: blockchain.info/tx/d5d696bd461746aaaad115482f32a59d18109f4543ba88936b29e44191979813 Please post the your faucet referral with Tx Proof. I'll include them in the list. I think vnbitcoin.org is just one time faucet correct me if i'm wrong

@Portnoy I am NOT actually interested to see your post in my thread and it is good if u remove your post from here. Before I say anything about your faucet list, i.e. actually full of referral SPAM, I would like to see your Tx details on blockchain.info which shows u actually paid in last three months for newbie lotto.

I am even using a service to get referrals, already at 15 with total earnings of 0.00026478 ;P.

You could use a deposit address on exchanges/gambling sites to receive those dusts, and send a consolidated payment to your own wallet every once in a while. But don't get me wrong, I do agree it doesn't worth the time to play with those faucets.

It annoys me too... especially how he talks bad about all the free bitcoin website lists. I have never encountered, malware or what not, on one of these sites. An occasional scam being promoted, well yeah, it happens..lol He pimps out his thread in every free / earn bitcoin thread he can with a standardized post warning others to stay away from "copy cat threads and websites". He takes a holier than thou attitude, about others having only have their own interests at heart, but then uses the referral links in his thread. I would like to see the winners of that newbie lotto, probably a way to get the multiple threads bumped, not at all positive, but proof would be nice.

So to save some tx fee. If you try to spend those dusts, you may need to pay more tx fee than the dusts themselves. But, if you use a deposit address to collect those dusts, and withdraw the whole balance when you get, say, 0.01btc, you only need to pay 0.0001 for that withdrawal. Instead of getting thousands of dust inputs in your own wallet, you only get a piece of 0.01 bitcoin tx.

Just have the dust payments sent to your wallet, doesn't hurt anything, clutters up your wallet a little maybe. The dust adds up in your wallet, same as using an exchange or gambling site...

When you send your bitcoin, the tx fee is based on your tx size (in KB) rather than the amount of bitcoin. You may be happy to see your wallet balance goes up for receiving a dozen of payments every day, but you will eventually find that it is not economical to spend those dusts.

I don't run any of the sites in the list. The referrals in the list are not spam. Spam is people posting the same links over and over in different posts through out the forums here. This list has been here for a very long time ( one of the most viewed non-sticky threads on these forums ) and because it is here, and has built up the trust of the moderators and the community, we don't need any more lists of free Bitcoin sites. The list helps keep down the spam of people continually posting their own lists of free Bitcoin sites. For a long time there were no referrals as part of the list but it was the community that suggested I include them. Many people have expressed their thanks for this list since it helped them get into Bitcoin, and they thought, I suppose, that I should get something for the time I put into maintaining the list. I thought, why not? The very small amount of BTC I get from these referrals goes into the Newbie Bonus draw, as part of the newbie lotto. I post the transaction details of these bonus draws when they happen.

None of the sites in the Free Bitcoin Sites thread * pays out dust. The list is checked everyday and If any site has changed and is now paying dust it is quickly spotted and removed from the list. *See my sig. or the newbie version is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90718

Having a link to the thread in my sig is pimping? Having one thread that has maintained and verified links and is watched over by the community and the moderators helps protect newbies from all the scams that take place regularly on these forums and elsewhere. You never encountered malware or any scams? I would suggest you haven't been checking free Bitcoin sites as long as I have. And about your other point, as I said, I offer the tx details of every newbie bonus draw after each one happens.

No, having the link in your signature is perfectly fine, I'm guilty of that myself..lol It just seems whenever a person posts their own list / website, you post your standardized, copy and pasted reply, warning them away from "copy cats" and redirecting them to your list. No, I have never come across any malware from a free list, but yes, like I said, I come across the occasional scam, there are definitely many out there. I'm sorry I didn't look for tx details for the newbie draw, I was just going by what the OP said, my mistake by doing that... A watched over proven list is good, but it's not as altruistic as you make it out be, with all the referral links. I'm probably just jealous of all your free advertising... I will drop the subject.

A watched over proven list is good, but it's not as altruistic as you make it out be, with all the referral links. I'm probably just jealous of all your free advertising... I will drop the subject. I have been here since mid-2011. Lurked for a few months before joining. And in that time I have seen a lot of scams... more than I could count... The mods take care of a lot of them but they can't go and check out all the sites that people offer links for. My interest is in helping Bitcoin users, especially newbies, try to avoid all that by maintaining a thread on this forum ( which as I said is watched over by not just me but the mods and everyone in the community that wants to participate, and there is a lot who follow the free Bitcoin sites thread ) where people can feel reasonably safe in trying the system out... getting a few non-dust satoshis to add to their new Bitcoin wallet or account. Of course it is not all unselfish on my part. Helping out newbies and making sure they don't get scammed and turned off of cryptocurrency helps out the whole Bitcoin economy, of which I am a part. I post in threads like this 'not' because I am trying to build up the satoshis with referrals ( which doesn't add up to very much, but helps me keep the newbie bonus draw going, along with the occasional donation ) it is because I feel we don't need more than one free Bitcoin sites thread, and if we have one it should be one that is proven due to the long time it has been here and the scrutiny it has received in that time. It can get confusing to have a lot of threads doing basically the same thing, and it is not always easy to know if some new thread that pops up is on the level. I am sorry if that upsets someone like the OP of this thread who himself is perhaps only trying to help. If he or anyone wants to help newbies find the best Bitcoin sites and to avoid scams etc. they are free and welcome to post in that thread. I like to feel it is not my thread but the community's. Believe me I have been buying Bitcoin since I heard about them in June 2011... I don't need the money. But I still want to see as many people get into as possible. I firmly believe Bitcoin will change the world in a very positive way. Thanks
