Dear Bitcoin Community,

I would like to invite you all to design a whole universe together. We have been actively working on the first Bitcoin MMORPG, a groundbreaking Ultima Online shard, it is revolutionary because you can not only deposit Bitcoins and get gold in-game (GP) upon 6 confirmations but you can actually acquire gold and you can exchange gold back to Bitcoins within the game yourself!

We have achieved this by controlling the production of the ingame gold, when there is more BTC in the system than gold more gold is issued with every monster kill, when there is less BTC in the system than gold less gold is issued with every monster kill.

This adds new exciting capablities to an otherwise dull game as users can actually make a living within this microeconomy, be it hunting, investing into "real estate" or just fishing, you can make BTC without depositing a single dime.

What you should expect in the future:
-An in-game casino, we are already negotiating with multiple casinos in order to bring your favorite casino games into UO while still offering provable fairness.
-A well balanced economy that doesn't compromise on early adopters
-A wiki showing all the custom ores, logs and items that are already in the game and the ones yet to come.
-Custom mobiles, ships, houses and so on.

We have figured that the chances of us creating a perfect world without any user input is slim to none so we are currently in open beta! During the open beta you can only deposit and withdraw testnet BTC however your account stats will not be removed once we switch over to real BTC within 1-2 weeks so you will get a jump-start over late adopters.

As true anarchists we will continue to refine this world into a Bitcoin utopia. Please leave any suggestions and/or tips you may have.

When I try to make an account it's telling me I have an invalid bitcoin address...

It's adding a : on the end.

Oh and I would like a referral system if there isn't one.  Smiley

You aren't the first mmorpg with bitcoins though,

that would be https://www.bitfantasy.com/

As I've said, currently we're using testnet so you need to get a testnet withdrawal address. You cannot change the withdrawal address after you create an account however we will change all the testnet addresses once the beta is over.

I have never heard of Bitfantasy but I'm sure that most would agree that it's not on the level with Ultima Online and their economy isn't Bitcoin based, you can pay for an account in Bitcoins.

Sorry, never heard of testnet btc, I will look into it...

But I'm sorry you are incorrect, bitfantasy's economy is based on bitcoins, you can buy and sell in game items using them.

I will say your game's way of turning gold straight into bitcoin sounds super cool though.  Grin

Testnet is an alternative blockchain with worthless Bitcoins, we are using it temporarily to eliminate and potential bugs and balance up the economy before switching to actual Bitcoins as the virtual world is rather complex.

Seems interesting and I think it's in the wrong category (it's not gambling, is it)?

I will look into it once it got released.

It's not gambling but it will have an in-game casino, I don't know what better category to put it so I have put it here for the admins to move if they please.

The game itself has already been released, you can download the client on the website it's just that we're only using Testnet BTC and in the Beta phase.

I have already mentioned this in the original post, once we move out of beta all of your gold will be deleted 100%, most of your items will be deleted as well, all your houses and ships demolished, however we might let players keep some unique one of the kind items that they have acquired during the beta, we will also let you keep all your skills so once we go out of beta you will be able to jump right into action and make BTC instead of fighting magpies in Britannia.

People have actually paid to be given beta access in the original Ultima Online days, building worlds together is a lot of fun.

For those of you that don't know how to get a testnet Bitcoin address just use this: n1KQddYBP6THyFHt62gKran17fgNysGRRV

It isn't of much use currently unless you are planning on withdrawing testnet BTC which you probably don't since you don't know how to get one. We will be donating all the reserves we accumulate to a faucet.

Email could take some time to deliver sometimes since the server is new and not trusted/propogated. I have registered 3 accounts trying to debug the issue and got all of the 3 emails 10 minutes later  Tongue
