I would like to recommend imToken and Eidoo are good wallets to use with your Android. Because they have good security and they both support ERC20 tokens too.

I recommend using
Ethereum Wallet by Freewallet. Store, send and receive ETH using a single application designed and developed by the Freewallet team.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eth.org.freewallet.app&hl=en

Thanks a lot for your review, glad you like our app!

If you are considering to hold it for a year then I would recommend you to go with offline wallet but as you said that you are not comfortable with hardware wallet then you can try paper wallet to store your funds. Crypto is all about self-responsibility and hence keeping our funds where it is vulnerable is not recommended. Trust me or not but offline wallets are most secure in my opinion as far as you are maintaining physical security.

MEW is okay but due to some circumstances and incidents, I wouldn't put that amount to a web based wallet but you if you don't have choice, just use .JSON file for accessing.

Coinomi is an easy-to-use android wallet that you can have recovery phrases to gain access again to your wallet, any wallet will do as long as you have the private keys.

.BIG WINNER!.

What is the best ETH wallet? Android

I will put in it about 2000 USD I will put them for a year

I don't want any hardware wallet

Free and safe

If you don't want a hardware wallet and you're looking to for something compatible with Android, I would check out Enjin Wallet (https://www.enjin.com/?ref=19273224). It is highly thought of in the cryptocommunity (to our knowledge at least).

You can find a list of all the available Android-wallets and how the cryptocommunity has rated them here:
https://www.cryptowisser.com/wallets/

Good luck!

All the best,
Cryptowisser

Holding $ 2000 for 1 year can make many profits. You can use online wallet without using the hardware wallet. You will not be able to get backup because Android Apps is uninstalled or mobile lost. Online Wallet will give you backup codes or private key. As a result, you will be protected and you will be able to check the account. If necessary, you can complete the transaction. You can learn a lot here https://cointelegraph.com/ethereum-for-beginners/ethereum-wallets#hardware-wallets

I prefer my ether wallet. You can also use it and connect it through metamask so that there will be no chance of your fund stolen. If you wish to use it, you can but make sure to connect metamask for extra security as your amount are pretty big.

My ether wallet https://myetherwallet.com  best etherium wallet. It also use for all coin store. Because it's support every 20ERC token. But there are a lack. MEW has not supported only Bitcoin. For mobile use, Jaxx is the  best  wallet.
Sure sure

Mobile wallets are among the most attractive crypto wallets, featuring practicality and ease of use. The most attractive feature is undoubtedly receiving or sending cryptographic payments anytime, anywhere. If you are looking for an Android wallet, i recommend Coinomi, supports nearly 100 cryptocurrencies and also Ethereum. Coinomi meets requirements such as privacy and anonymity.

I suggest Trust. Even if you’re a newbie, the app is very user friendly, easy to understand, and easy to get used to.
