There is always a possibility that another altcoin can replace Bitcoin as the number Cryptocurrency. Whether by value or by favoritism. But that would be a huge market change id that happens. With how volatile and fast the market change everything is possible.

I doubt that there will be a coin that will rise to dethrone Bitcoin at all, I mean the Bitcoin laid the foundation of what the cryptocurrency has now, not to mention the influence it has over the entire market, its the deciding factor. Though somehow I wish some coin will take over Bitcoin soon, its the main reason why the altcoins are not reaching its full potential.

This is a very speculative question. It might or it might not since that volume of investors right now have invested to bitcoin greatly compare to the mentioned altcoins. I see bitcoin as a skeloton which will be used as a base for other technologies the same way the TCP/IP protocol is a base for the internet. The Lighning technology is one of those muscles which can be grown on that skeloton to make it more functional and I hope there will be much more to go.
