Just wanted to point out that the new coin GiarCoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=545529.0 decided to do polls to decide certain things, including the algorithm to be used. Scrypt-N won at 31% and the coin has just launched, and the network hashrate is already 26.37 MH/s. Remember this is scrypt-n so you could almost double that rate for comparison to regular Scrypt. Just proves my point that there are PLENTY of Scrypt-N resources out there. If LiteBar switches algorithms, Scrypt-N appears to be a stable and safe choice. |

LGD also had that option, without voting tho just by writign in topic. anyways - i believe we shouldnt switch algos. LTB was made for scrypt - let it stay like this. we can make other coins and move to other algos |

Watching the GuldenCoin launch (which is also Scrypt) and it appeared that there might be someone with an ASIC (or supper large GPU farm) pointing their power at that coin. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554412.msg6074081#msg6074081Nethashrate actually got over 1 Terrahash per second within just a few minutes! Just a reminder that Scrypt will be increasingly vulnerable, and that's why I recommended LiteBar consider switching to Scrypt-N in the first place. Of course everyone has the right to their own opinion on the matter. |
