A friend told me Mt. Gox wants to do some massive buying and the rate will go up at once - you think it's true or bunch of crap?

I"m sure he is telling the truth. i have made the price go up at mt gox as well.  In fact this probably happens a hundred times a day or more.

Nope, they cant even control their own price. Before they used to PUMP up the price, but now days they cant even try.
