I search @rolmeda real name is Rafael Olmeda, who is him? if his account doesn't get hacked, I think he will go to the jail if there's many report created and the police obviously can get his personal information considering social media have low privacy.

And if he is caught and he makes this excuse of his account being hacked, all the money he scammed will be traced. He can not escape it if those he scams get to report him to the police.

I doubt that the real Rafael Almeida is behind this scam, since in this case it would not be difficult for the police to find him and bring charges. Scammers in such cases never use their verified accounts, as they understand all the risks associated with their identification and subsequent punishment.

If we calculate the current ETH value around $ 1300, then equivalent to $130,000,000, if this happens in 2016 or 2017 then I believe, at that time many bounties or giveaways that provide paid up to millions of dollars, And for now it is better to ignore things like this.

Do not be shocked if you find out that there are some people who still believe this is possible in today.

If that is not him, what is still keeping him from making a public disclaimer from another account on what is happening or will he say he does not know what is happening that someone is using his identity online and scamming others? Sometimes what those we vouch for do behind closed doors or when no eyes are watching them can shock and make us speechless.

Twitter and YouTube are the most known cases of fake giveaways of cryptocurrencies on behalf of famous personalities. Of course, the leader is ETH. All these phishing pages and giveaways are based on one simple human phenomenon. It is called inattention. People are too lazy to check something, clarify, ask questions about similar giveaways in other social networks, chat rooms, channels. Instead, they rush as quickly as possible to give their money, naively believing that this distribution from public figures. This method is now four or five years old. How much longer will it take for people to understand these simple basics when interacting with cryptocurrencies?

Scammers give such huge numbers because they are hoping that people do not stop to think about it and instead they rush to participate as they want to get part of the giveaway for themselves, and it is obvious that it works as we have seen many cases like this in the past and people are scammed for a lot of money, and until people educate themselves about all of those scams and how to identify them then this will keep happening, since scammers do not see any reason to change at all when such an obvious tactic keeps working so well.

cases like this have actually happened a long time ago and will continue to happen at any time.
but i'm sure that people out there can tell the difference between vitalik real twitter and fake twitter. and people who know crypto can also think logically when it is impossible for the owner of ethereum vitalik to give away of 100,000 ETH with a very high value.
well maybe some people are also deceived because the account has a blue tick like the original vitalik. but if you think using logic it will be seen if the account is fake. and there is a possibility that the blue tick account is the result of hacking an account belonging to a famous person or artist who was hacked so that the account has blue tick verification.
from here we can be more careful that popular coins are not that easy and not that much give away and always think using logic is better

The reality indeed, newcomers are mostly being informed by a wrong impressions thinking that there are possibilities as to how they've heard it before, stories of people who managed to earn a huge amount of profits just by following and supporting giveaways, and that's how scammers come up with a great plans making it more realistic for people who are unaware with this kind of act.

They will bring them alluring offers and an almost duplicate by known people around this industry. They will do everything to make it look like legit and once they've got the attention, they can now easily penetrate and scam those followers who participated.
As they say “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing” we know that long time ago there were people that even made a fortune by just collecting bitcoin from faucets, but we also know those days are long behind us, but the people that come to this market know that there was a time when making money in this market was as easy as just making a few clicks and then holding your coins, but it is not as easy anymore and they do not know that, so if they see a giveaway like this they fall for it even if for people like us this is an obvious scam.

They are required to learn things the right way, as scamming and hacking all over the web is very dangerous it is no longer the time for taking chances and enjoy when the hype happen, the social media channels are exploit with a lot of scammers and those hackers who really do well in advancing the way of attracting and fooling their victims.

Take your best DYOR before proceeding in whatever things you will do that relate to this venue. It will lessen the chance of experiencing scams and hacks.

This is a very popular method of Twitter scamers. Unfortunately, in the world of crypto you have to be careful at every step. Recently, scammers have a new way - for several days my nickname on Twitter has been marked with fake airdrops of projects whose accounts I follow. I admit that the first time I almost got caught, because this project offered real airdrop at the same time.

There's something I believe in crypto industry that old tokens or coins can't just do giveaway without a reason, something get wondering how the ethereum ceo could just run an airdrop without any proper reason. This is likely to be affected to those who haste to make free money online.
People needs to be careful with what they join as an airdrops or giveaway.

Some people don't know that the imposter that vitalik is the CEO of ethereum, There are also people who knows that vitalik is the CEO but don't have any idea that he don't do such thing as give away especially those newbies. Even me thought at the first glance that that tweet is legit because of the blue check in that profile but after having a close look at the twitter username, It's pretty obvious that it is a scam. Scammers are being smart now and the thing we can do is become vigilant and be aware on how things work.

At first sight, both accounts are very identical to each other but after having a second and more sight, I finally spot the difference and that is their "username" where one is @vitalik.eth and the other is @rolmeda. I also thought that the second account's check mark is fake but it doesn't look like it's fake but I wonder why twitter accepted to verify this account and put a little blue checkmark on it.

They didn't research first carefully if this was actually a legit account and not fake but many people are still going to be skeptical after seeing that 100k eth giveaway. I am sure many of us are aware that there are same scam schemes like that on the past and experts already warned about it.

If there is an airdrops program that gives a very large gift and if we count at the current price then equivalent $160,000,000 and in my opinion it is impossible if there is an airdrops that gives rewards of $160,000,000, Usually this is a way of scammers in the hope that we connect wallet to the site and then they steal the assets that we save.

Scammers create a website with the name of some celebrities like Vitalik, Michael Sayler, or Elon musk and offer something like this. " send 1 bitcoin or 1 Ethereum, you'll get 10 bitcoin or Ethereum back. And newcomers fall into the trap of Scammers who think that their funds will be increased by tenfold, but in reality, they get nothing after sending.
Hence, one should not participate in any such giveaway, it is just a way to scam you. You do not need to send a payment to participate in a Legit Giveaway Or airdrop.

Thanks for calling our attention to this, while we can actually see the username because of the box, an un-observant person attention can easily go to the picture without reference on the username. IMO, the rate of scamming is really on the rise. We also see this in Telegram groups too - we notice groups with just the same name but of course, with different username. If you are the type that fail to confirm the username of the telegram sight you are following, you may fall for the scammers. Attention to details is very important. Even websites can have clones.

Yes, there are already same kind of scamming before and it's good to see that someone address it again for refresher and for awareness, it's best to closely look on that particular account and see if that's legit or just alluring you to participate, scammers are good in trying to engage with people who are lazy and careless, the fact that they are also upgrading their ways to scam people should be noticeable.

Knowing that those scammers are also readers and observers, they are just checking if what kind of scheme they can use to scam people, imitating someone's account is one of the common practices so better to keep yourself aware.

Having these scammers is not the problem, it's the projects that are the real scammers and people do not realize it. I have to say there are so many "projects" that look real, and they make it look like they are working on something that would be great, but in reality they are not really doing anything that would make any sense.

I know that it's not going to be a decent thing, nor a problematic thing if they just continued, but they end up scamming their investors. This doesn't even get called a scam, it's called rug pull, they made it even cuter in the word as well. These are all scammers who steal investors money, and that's our danger right now.

Guys down to the official tweet from Vitalik about the release of his Book Proof Of Stake there is a scam account that resembles same as Vitalik's official Twitter account. If you watch closely you can easily find the difference. The scammer have described about a 100,000 ETH as a celebration of merge. Please be careful and don't loss your ethereum.

This is information that we should appreciate because many people lose their assets just because they are tempted by the amount of prizes that will be given. and usually the people who are deceived are people who want a gift but do not do research first about the truth of the information received by them. so it is highly recommended for all of us to look for the truth of the information we get, because here are so many scammers who work in various ways.
