It has to do with the push and pull factor. Some of the ICO promoters may want to base their token on alternative platforms such as Quantum and Stellar. But then, the investors may not be willing to invest in such ICOs.

As far as ICOs are concern, I totally agree with this one. Ethereum is really the king of ICO. Majority of coins or tokens created in ICOs if not all are based on ethereum blockchain. They find it more convenient and easy to use erc20 compared to other platforms. Also most ICOs are accepting ethereum and bitcoin only as their mode of payment.

Ethereum was the first which hosted an enviroment where you can do everything, so it has a lot of network effect (like btc for currency). Probably there are some problem in scalability due to project design but if it works, there won't be space for competitors

it seems that it is difficult to maintain its status now. it has a lot of problems. For example, the network is blocked and the high transfer fee is charged. EOS is challenging it
