im a noob, I would like for someone to point me in the right direction to what is profitable right now? the difficulty in bitcoin is through the roof and buying a blackarrow 100gh/s x1 wouldn't be worth it from what I have been reading for the past couple of days. so where should I begin before I waste my money?

You're right about mining btc, it's currently not worth it. I don't know enough about other coins to give you an educated opinion however you'd probably better off just purchasing BTC or another coin and holding it and hoping the price goes up. Especially if you don't know much about mining as it's not exactly noob friendly. Do some more research, you can find a ton of info on this forum as well as other places. In my opinion, if you can't tell me what mining is or why you do it, then you shouldn't try it until you do.

As others have said, it isn't even worth it to mine Bitcoin anymore unless you have a huge setup. Most people trying to mine wouldn't even be able to cover the cost of power.

It is far more profitable to mine altcoins and exchange them for BTC.

Agreed - you'll earn a lot more that way at the moment. I've had good profits so far with this method.

In saying that, coins are cheap at the moment so if I were you I'd just buy some instead.
