The major and vital reason why a trader who is trading on cryptocurrency market or even forex market prediction to stay off.is that no body knows tommorow. Prediction base on fundamental analysis can be of a failure to trader which might result to loses even more than half of his or her portfolio because the news is control by the Government  and top guys in the society they can cause a serious dip that one might not recover from in months such as what is going on this year 2018. Currency pairs can be manipulated by whales or pump group which will also cause disequilibrium in price action of Cryptocurrency pairs they are interested. If you can learn from this year long time bearish movement you will know that predictions don't really work perfectly. Hence to my own opinion as a trader l will advice to stay off market prediction

Prediction is the core of bitcoin market. Without prediction, entire market is bound to fail. We invest in bitcoins because we believe that the value of bitcoin will be high in future. That's one kind of prediction.

Also majority of the crypto trades are based on short term predictions. If people stop predicting/speculating bitcoin's price, the market movement will be halted and the growth will be stopped. Bitcoin is largely a speculative asset. Without prediction, nothing will be achieved.

Right, a prediction is great but it must be from ourselves not from others. We must learn how to analyze the market through technical analysis and not base it on others inputs or hints. By the time you know it, turns out they just want you to jump in so they can recover their own lost.
