According to a study conducted by researchers at Imperial College London, cryptocurrency has the potential to become a form of payment that is widely used for decades to come. In their research report entitled "Cryptocurrency: Overcoming Barriers to Trust and Adoption" Professor Imperial College London, William Knottenbelt, and Imperial College Business School Dr. Zeynup Gurguc, argue that cryptocurrency has so far acted as a store of value like a fiat currency.

Well we really do hope so. The fact that Bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies has helped us with our transactions much secure and easier is just one of the reasons why many people will use cryptocurrencies just like the currencies we usually use.

No one can say the future...But we can say the usage of bitcoins will increase which is a positive sign for becoming the main stream...But now comes about the government...No idea whats going on in the mind of the government...May be they can ban bitcoin...And if they do then it cant be the main stream..

It should not take 10 years, and BTC should become mainstream within 5 years. At present, the real society's demand for gold is already very large, and BTC can replace some gold in the Internet area.

Never before can the BTC become the world's common currency, even though the BTC is still around for years, because using BTC is not suitable for some people and if you are not tech savvy you will not be able to. Use and Secure BTC

Yes, I'm sure that bitcoin will become the main payment form, and perhaps the only one. The only thing is very difficult to predict when exactly this will happen. The countries of the world are very different in terms of technological development. I mean, even now there are places on the planet where there is no internet. Every day their are less and less, of course.
Most importantly, the more people learn about crypto currencies and blockchain technology and will understand all the advantages of using it for different purposes, the sooner we will move to a new level.

That is a good possibility. Bitcoin in a decentralized way isn't interesting for governments and their friendly businessmen, but Blockchain technology is. To become mainstream isn't an easy task, you need the cooperation of the media, big investors, corporations, governments, mafias... And Bitcoin doesn't have support from any of those factions.

Currently there are many governments that prohibit transactions using bitcoin, there is even a government that prohibits bitcoin for any purpose. But most existing governments are only neutral by not allowing bitcoin transactions and allowing them as commodities. I think they are waiting for the progress of bitcoin and also the decisions taken from the governments of other countries.

Because we all know bitcoin has the potential to replace a currency with its various advantages. I think 10 years is enough time to make bitcoin acceptable to a wider audience even though bad news remains a problem in the progress of bitcoin

It is very possible for Bitcoin to hit a global patronage within the next 10 years considering its exponential growth in attracting new users and investors every day. People are getting to know its concept and the benefits it can offer them.

Because as we can see, from now on that's what BTC does. It dominates the currencies of every country in the world. Yes, there is a possibility that BTC will become mainstream for the following years.

Everything about bitcoin regarding that matter is still uncertain beforehand. Though there's a chance it can be widely used but it doesn't seems totally realistic if the basis was 10 years from now.
maybe yes maybe no. because we don't know how many total bitcoin users actually are today. bitcoin has been in existence for nine years and the total marketcap reaches hundreds of billions dollars. maybe when the next 10 years can be 2 times or more. lets wait and see

Of course bitcoin can become mainstream within the next ten years. Unlike many fiat currencies in the world, bitcoin is stable in terms of its inflation, with mining being halved every four years. I wouldn't be shocked if central banks were already starting to hoard it.

There is a possibility for it to become mainstream. The number of crypto users are growing day by day and if we consider the growth in terms of price then it would be able to attract more users when its price shoot up. We can only count on the people who remained faithful to it though when the price went down for us to see if they are really in it for the long term. As the price becomes stable, more people and businesses would consider adopting it and it would be the key for it to become mainstream.

It is very likely to happen unless a new currency has been devised by the government in the future and it is more widespread. Personally I think Bitcoin can only be represent for cryptocurrency because its value is at least a few thousand dollars, which is very annoying if you have 1 Bitcoin and want to buy a couple of snacks. Not because because you do not want your 1 Bitcoin to be 0.999999 Bitcoin, but also you don't know whether you pay more than the amount of the item you bought because the value of Bitcoin is so massive to keep track on.

What you say does not make sense, you do not have to send 1 bitcoin and then get change, you can send exactly what you need to send in order to pay for products and services something that is not always possible to do with cash, this is why bitcoin can be divided up to 100 million satoshis and if for some reason bitcoin became so valuable that we needed an even greater level of divisibility then the developers can change that.

Maybe that future is possible because in the current events bitcoin is already popular to investors and merchants even tech and commerce companies are heavily invested in it. No one can predict the future but it is possible for bitcoin to become mainstream with it's growing adoption and fundementals.

Yes it is possible, although it has a small chance. People will see cryptocurrencies values skyrocketing every hour. The futute seems bright and people will have many opportunities in  investing in crypto.

Actually this is the mean legacy of cryptocurrency, thats to become the mainstream of cashless society, and bitcoin is the mainsource of all crypto, otherwise ,these study conducted some researchers at imperial london is only a part of survey and they only said thats its have a big potential,to become the form of payment, because in the reality  there's so many barrier before its happen to become a main source of currency and one of them is the  implementation of the regulation of the world government.

i hear somewhere that there are shops accepting bitcoin as payment but only for delivery, its a bit overpriced but it shows how bitcoin has the potential to become a legit currency in the future, besides it actually has different monetary values worldwide so it is not far from impossible.

I absolutely believe in that. Revolution 4.0 has come and all industries are changing, financials and currencies are no exception. The old face and payment methods are outdated. Bitcoin or Crypto is the new future
