According to a study conducted by researchers at Imperial College London, cryptocurrency has the potential to become a form of payment that is widely used for decades to come. In their research report entitled "Cryptocurrency: Overcoming Barriers to Trust and Adoption" Professor Imperial College London, William Knottenbelt, and Imperial College Business School Dr. Zeynup Gurguc, argue that cryptocurrency has so far acted as a store of value like a fiat currency.
It is one of the best possibilities that can happen to bitcoin in the next 10 years or maybe in less than 10 years. But it still depends on bitcoin's performance to be able to please more and more people.

it seems to me that we must change a lot before accepting and making bitcoin the main one in the world economy. Still a lot of work to be done

There are possibilities of this it may be within or after 10 years, present society is technical and computerize society every one wants short cuts for fulfillment of their demands and requirements for that every one needs more easy money, and for that every one need cryptocurrency and in this way btc become mainstream in coming future.

Yes, why not? Currently, there have been small businesses or individuals who are accepting BTC or cryptocurrencies as mode of payment. Ad so, if this is being used today, how much more in the coming days unless otherwise there will be global banning of cryptos. However, we do not know yet if BTC will rule on the time to come. We really do not know, but there is potential that an innovation can outperform what BTC is doing now. It's just a matter of time for us to witness it.

By now it is evident that the prophesied mass adoption has not yet come. But Bitcoin isn’t going to die any time soon either, despite what some of the detractors would have you believe. The question then becomes, when is global recognition realistically possible and what has been preventing it so far? Both the number of daily transactions and the price of Bitcoin have steadily grown to quite substantial levels, despite all the setbacks and crashes on the way. It is clear that there is enough determination and enthusiasm in the Bitcoin community to maintain the current positive dynamics into the future. Rather, the continuation of the current steady organic growth could be what Bitcoin needs. It is quite likely that five or 10 years half the world will know what Bitcoin is.

Somehow I don't think that Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency is ment to become mainstream. No matter the mass adoption or regulation to be mainstream is not the purpose of cryptocurrencies, they are created with aim to be alternative to traditional economy and fiat currencies and it should stay so. By that I don't want to say that Bitcoin doesn't need to have the equal position and treatment like fiat, just the opposite, but mainstream is totaly different story.

Bitcoin will become the main means of payment in the next 10 years, as the whole financial world is now closely studying cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin, in my opinion, is the most reliable of them.

My point is that bitcoin and crypto may become a mainstream, but only until it satisfies big players. I mean, even if crypto-payments will become adopted and widespread, an average man won't get any advantage of it except for the ability to use one more means of payment. The time of gaining big money on crypto is already behind.

Maybe that can happen, because bitcoin is still in the development stage. And bitcoin is a coin of the future, so it's natural that bitcoin is said to be mainstream and I think it will be an expensive coin in the next 10 years.

I think so , since many companies are already using Bitcoin As a means to pay for their goods and services, given how fast the progress is developing right now, we can assume that in 10 years we will transfer taxes to the FIU Bitcoinami !

Yes, I believe that bitcoin will go mainstream in the next ten years, look how technology transform our society and bitcoin will surely transform our economy also. In each day, bitcoin holders are increasing in number and some countries are starting to recognize it, over a decade it will be adapted all over the world.
I hope you are correct on that, because as we know a lot of things can happen in 10 years, bitcoin could become mainstream and be adopted all over the world, but if governments feel that they are threatened in their interests by this new currency it is very likely that they are going to ban it and if that is the case then the adoption of bitcoin could get lower instead of higher.

Yes surely this is possible because bitcoin has the potential to do so.Every study in cryptomarket proved that BTC has the capability to emerge as the successfull currency in coming future. In next 10 years we can say that bitcoin will become the future currency. It has the potential to replace the paper currency. In coming years bitcoin will be used in every transaction.

I think Bitcoin is a place to store the assets of technology addicts. Bitcoins are not just used to buy goods online, but they can also be used to pay college tuition. Bitcoin is a global asset pegged to other investment assets such as gold, stocks and real estate.

It's a matter of time, in the future bitcoin will become the main coin, but not the only other coins will be the same, and maybe even more valuable than bitcoin. But at this time, everything will be fine for this, because sooner or later digital money will completely replace Fiat.

10 years is a long time, it will be enough to make bitcoin as a mainstream currency in the future if bitcoin usage keep increasing from now. Few years ago when bitcoin were created, there are only few peoples know about bitcoin and many didn't believe bitcoin value. But now, bitcoin value is very high and became a popular currency.

yes of course that could happen because this bitcoin has a very limited total supply and the demand is so high that it will make the price of bitcoin in the future will become a coin that has a very expensive price because the available supply has run out and it is very difficult to get bitcoin.

Crypto currency can be widely used all over the world as a way of paying for goods and services. This is unquestionable. Of course, this requires a very extensive infrastructure, which will ensure the technical side of such a process. However, decentralized crypto currency has no chance at all to become the main form of payment in any state. Crypto currency can only go in parallel with the national money of this state.

If you look at the development of technology that is now increasingly sophisticated, everything will happen, because the interest of bitcoin is increasing, because cryptocurrency has the potential to become a widely used form of payment over the next few decades, some countries have accepted it as a legal place and are used as their payment instrument and some countries are still in process.
