I'm curious how much actual "tipping" goes on in the forums and the bitcoin community in general.  Have you tipped?  Been tipped?  Not been tipped?

Please choose one option from the "soliciting" options and one from the "giving" options.

edit: sorry, I decided to add a couple more options, so I hope I didn't screw up the choices of whoever voted while I was doing that.
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I helped a guy find his wallet.dat, he sent me 1 btc.

edit: I didn't solicit, but then he asked what my address was.  That's why I ended up putting the address in my sig, to avoid that step if it ever arose in the future.

edit2: I can imagine in the future (if bitcoin sigs become common place enough), many tips being sent to remote forum users of tech help.  It'll also (hopefully) curb the "Hey, I have <insert same problem as you>, how can I fix it?  EDIT: Nvm, fixed it", as more people would be prone to TELLING THE REST OF US HOW THEY FIXED IT.

i think i've tipped more times than i can count, because i'd rather tip many people a small amount than tip a few people a big amount.

receiving 0.02 is infinitely better than receiving 0.

I agree!  It's like finding $5 in your winter jacket a year later. Smiley  But I've never received a tip.

I recive the occasional tip for assiting in someway with mining issues, it's encouraging some of them actually require a bit of reading of a boards manual not always the generic "disable xfire install this drivers use this setting and you're fine"

If you found that funny or something i said useful i always appreciate spare change
