It was indeed quite depressive to see strong projects like OneLedger and Atonomi go well below their ICO price as in the bull market they would probably reach 5x+ right out of the gates. Fingers crossed that the situation will correct itself soon.

Yes, at present is still in a bear market, BTC has fallen by more than half a year, but the trend continues, if BTC did not usher in a bull market, so all altcoin is such, ICO is also.

True. All of the ICOs that are out now are undervalued because bitcoin is down which affects the entire market so if you are expecting ICOs to do well while the price of bitcoin is down then you are just putting yourself up to be disappointed. The best way would be to buy the coins from the projects that you are certain will last for a while and then hold the coins for the price of bitcoin to go up.

Today we can see a lot of ICO struggling for financing, some of them even canceling or delaying. A lot of old Altcoin have seen bottom , new ones even under ico price.
When we look at the history of ICOs we notice  they start collecting money like 2016 they rise till the end of 2017 and falling in 2018 just like the btc. It is obvious they follow btc wave. So do not expect too much things from ICOs, tokens, altcoins. There is likely more than a year for  btc  to gather strength, same for ICOs.

Anyone investing into any ICO today will really have to be patient to wait for the perfect time to be expecting something tangible from those ICOs. We are in a huge downtrend and it is obviously affecting the whole market and I can simply understand why some ICOs are even skeptical when it comes to being listed on exchanges and trying to find a better time during bitcoin uptrend to do that. For what it is worth though, it is just a good chance to be picking some of them with good product which are less than the ICO price now.

Chain reaction when btc pumped the value of your ico coins will rise as well, the market still relying with btc value, we can't deny that fact and as long as the system still like this, we will just be disappointed unless we sets our minds with a waiting game inside this market, if you can wait for some time then
you have a good chances to gain more profits, just wait till the market turned to green it will bring everything in a positive situations.

You have a good view. BTC came to a low valley in 2013. After a few years. People's understanding of the encrypted currency. The price of BTC reached a high point last year. But the market is always regular. ICO is the same. It reached a high point last year. I believe that this year is going to be in a low valley. The prices are all broken.

My opinion is that tokens and coins need to leave out of the influence of bitcoin. This is not a serious situation. I think that the problem is, too high a bitcoin price. It is not clear to me how one can talk about decentralization, if the whole market can be managed through the price of bitcoins. There is not so much coins that do not fall under its influence.
This is absolutely true. We must avoid the hard price dominance of bitcoin. This can be done only when the capitalization of bitcoin has fallen and will not be so different from the others. The coins are decentralized, but there is no free market. This is very bad. The bitcoin has turned into a monster that tortures all the crypto currency.

Exactly, it doesn't matter how good the project is, if btc is tanking then it's taking the rest of the projects with him and there isn't much we can do about it - expect learning to play by the rules of the game and make money off of shorting btc

You have a point, but some ICOs like PrimalBase etc are doing well like Bitcoin, hitting as high as $3000 and above. It's true that when Bitcoin increases in price the resultant effect is that prices of good ICOs also appreciate, since they are traded in BTC or ether. However, for me I still believe that some good ICOs of reputable companies can emerge that will be able to build their own community and will not have much influence of the price action of Bitcoin on it.

And the time for such ICOs are coming soon as Amazon and WallMart are preparing to unleash their ICOs. Even Viola.AI (https://viola.ai/?r=5a2d62cf2225) is coming and  Omega One are all ready to make some good difference. The futute will tell! Smiley

Currently we have to be patient with the existing ICO, because the existing market conditions are experiencing a downward trend. So as long as Bitcoin prices are still like this we are still waiting for ICO token prices to rise high. Hopefully Bitcoin prices could rise again again like last year and could make the ICO tokens could follow a significant increase.

I was just saying this to a friend the other day. He invested in an ICO and was expecting a lot of returns from it and my response to him was that the price of bitcoin is way too low so there is no way that any other coins are going to be doing well except the coins that are getting pumped and dumped. If you are investing in ICOs then you should be willing to wait for bitcoin to recover before you can make a reasonable profit from it.

it is not just the issue of BTC price not doing well but the quality of valueable projects in the space has decreased significantly everyone just want to hit the market with a project that has nothing in particular to add to the space and people started losing trust in the space
Butt one thing is that for those who are smart seeing some of these valuable projects being undervalued, it would be a big time for them to be investing in them as fast as possible because when the whole market starts recovering, the chances of them flying pretty fast to their ICO level price is pretty certain and without doubt that alone is some huge profit already for how much some of these tokens have bottomed so low.

If you are investing in ICOs then you should be willing to wait for bitcoin to recover before you can make a reasonable profit from it.
Unfortunately few ICOs will never get bumped as the devs intentionally started such a venture just to eat our money. If you have selected your ICOs very carefully then you may go for opting to wait for some months so that you may get good returns for your investments.

Totally agree,, do not expect for the coin prices to the moon either. I dont really know if it all because of bounty hunters tend to dump their rewards or it is the ICO itself who failed to run their project smoothly based on the roadmap or their project simply just not good enough for the investors

That's probably because of BTC's steady going upward and most investors are in to btc as of the moment. But eth and other alts might get back to green days once BTC starts to decline when that time come we will reap what we sow.

Yes, but this is the right time to invest in my opinion. BTC is booming, crypto will soon follow its footsteps. Regardless of your bad timing, you should do always research and nit pick what you invest in. not all of them do good and not all of them do bad. It's not as simple as putting everything in one bucket and label it as ICO.

Most ICO projects do fall a bit after the stock market, but it seems to me that the main reason is the greed of investors who want to get only profit and they do not care about the technology being created.
Yes, the investors would prefer to get the weak hands out of the market and dump pretty fast so as to be able to achieve that. In this kind of scenario, this is when a lot of bounty participants always get out of the market anyway, most especially for those who did not participate because they even knew anything about the project but because they just want the short term money to do whatever they feel like doing. Also, with the current state of the market, obviously nothing much should be expected than this. I am still holding many tokens patiently which were bought as well got rewarded from various bounties and expecting bitcoin prices to have better prices like $12k levels and above.

Im not really expecting too much in ICO because some of them are money making, after they got some money from investors, theres no progress after that,  and they still waiting till bitcoin falls down, most of the ICO gets down when bitcoin starting to rise,  and these should be the reasons why all altcoins didnt rise immediately in the market.
