well in all seriousness I see no real reason that any coin is #2, ever. If any other coin was #2, I would say the same thing. there might be some nice features, or miner support, or community, or whatever, but whatever is sitting at #2 is just a lurker awishing and ahoping. |

I know that hating Ripple is a widespread feeling, but I just don't understand it.
They are not trying to be like BTC or any other mined coin. They are not even trying to attract the crypto-currency traders. Their promotion is almost non-existent. Everyone (ok --almost everyone) who owns ripples (XRP) also owns at least BTC as well, if not plenty of other alt coins. And most of all, Ripple is mostly just a highway for trading currencies (at the moment, anyway) that can (or cannot) be used at anytime and has nothing to say about which currency or coin is better or worse.
I can see ignoring Ripple -- and hey, it's easy to do -- but the hate just doesn't make any sense.
